- Other Thoughts: This little chunk of brass may not look like much, but if you're using studio equipment for your photography, you're going to need a couple of these babies. Be careful when you order one, though. This one goes from 3/8 inch female to 1/4 inch male adapter. Manfrotto makes a reverse of this one (see below). There are cheaper substitutes than these made by Manfrotto, but I don't recommend you buy them. If you're going to to put a flash or studio light or some other piece of equipment costing your hundreds or even over a thousand dollars, spend the extra few bucks and get a good one that will last. It sounds silly to say so much about a little brass adapter, but these go on smoothly and easily. Oh, and get yourself at least two of each when you order them. You'll use them eventually or will be irritated when you can't find your one doohickey.

- Other Thoughts: this is just what i needed when i found an expensive tripod at the thrift store,and i bought it and ordered this adapter and poof 800 dallor tripod ready for my camera to use anyway it worked perfect and was quick

- Other Thoughts: This alows you to add a tripod head on top of a hiking staff. The staffs have a 1/4 screw and this converts to the 3/8 so you can use a pro head on top of a staff.

- Other Thoughts: This screw adapter does exactly what it is supposed to, and does it leaving you assured with peace of mind. I use this adapter to mount a Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head Short ballhead to my Slik tripod. I decided not to go with a cheaper adapter since I was going to be mounting this ballhead to my tripod and putting my DSLR on top of it. I didn't want to have to worry about it possible falling off because of a cheap adapter, and this certainly puts that to rest for me. It seems really well made and all my connections are tight (part on tripod and in ballhead mount) and it supports the ballhead/DSLR perfectly.

- Other Thoughts: 1. The sizes are standard, which is why I can combine with the fastener so well. <br/>2. Having a screw on the inside and the outside allows for a nice mechanism to do something like I have (different than it's original design). <br/>3. The fastener can be screwed in from either side, which is something I wasn't sure about. So glad it does work!
