We love this baby monitor. We had a Sony audio only monitor before, which even in a fairly small condo crackled constantly with static and poor reception. This video/audio monitor has almost flawless reception. That alone makes it worth the price. And the night vision along with remote control angle pan and zoom work quite well. All other complaints such as the volume control being in a menu are minor to us compared to the benefits. Wish we had gotten it when our baby was even younger. It helps us distinguish whether our 5 month old is making sounds while sleeping or actually waking up. Highly recommended.

With this model you can remotely move the camera. This really comes in handy since children tend to move around quite a bit. I did have to purchase a new one after a year bc the screen went out. Also the button to turn the scrren on and off went out as well. My new one has not had any of these problems and I have had it for a year now. I do suggest however, to purchase an extra camera- one for the playroom and one for the bedroom!

We haven't gotten to try this out with the baby yet, but so far so good! We had no problems setting the camera up. The picture looks great.

We've had this monitor for a month now. The video quality is very good. It shows amazingly good detail in the dark. I find the volume easy enough to adjust.

I also didn't think a video monitor would be necessary, but my husband--a gadget guy--wanted one, so we 1st got the Sight & Sound Assurance by Safety 1st. The monitor on the Safety 1st was always B&W and pretty grainy, also the monitor is very bulky and always has to be plugged in.

I have had this DVR Baby Monitor Kit for about 1 week and though my baby hasn't arrived yet, love it so far.
