This is a great video monitor. I love the zoom, pan and tilt options. yes, you need to adjust the volume in the menu, but you only hit the menu button once and that's the first thing that appears, so not that big of a deal. <br/> <br/>The motor in the unit is silent, so it does not disturb baby. <br/> <br/>I have an older Summer model in the house that gets a lot of interference, but this one comes through crystal clear, no matter where I am in my two-level house.

The picture is very sharp. The range is good. The zoom and ability to control the camera remotely is unbelievably helpful. We have a 3 yr old and a 3 month old - we've tried several monitors. It has saved us hundreds of trips up and down steps, and in and out of his room. Worth every penny and then some.

I can't imagine my life without this monitor! I have a two month old and this product gives me so much freedom. It's nice to peek in on her during naptime and nighttime and not have to risk waking her up. Especially during the first few weeks when you are totally paranoid and want to make sure she is breathing all the time. It also allows me to run on the treadmill with my headphones on during her nap because I can just watch the video instead of having to listen for her. Greatly recommend this product. I'd have to say this is the single best thing I bought for my baby! I do agree the green light is annoying, but it does not bother her, in fact, one night we watched her smile and coo at the monitor for a few minutes before she fell asleep.

I had triplets and needed a camera that gave me a view of all 3 cribs. This monitor provides the option to move the lense around the room. The zoom capability is also as well but does not give you various zooms although enough to see your baby/babies. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend this to all parents.

I also didn't think a video monitor would be necessary, but my husband--a gadget guy--wanted one, so we 1st got the Sight & Sound Assurance by Safety 1st. The monitor on the Safety 1st was always B&W and pretty grainy, also the monitor is very bulky and always has to be plugged in.

I have had this DVR Baby Monitor Kit for about 1 week and though my baby hasn't arrived yet, love it so far.
