The USB 2 port KVM switch allows users to share a VGA monitor, USB mouse, and USB keyboard between two computers. 2 port KVM switch supports multiple operating systems. I have a couple of systems that have PS2 connectors for the wireless keyboard and mouse. This allows me to convenient switch between the two systems. Reliable, no issues.

I bought this KVM switch to hook up a new Dell we'd bought for my mother. She had an older system running Win Me and was reluctant to change, so this would give her a way to have both systems hooked up and she could get used to the new operating system in her own time.

I recently got my old computer back up and running and wanted to set up a kvm for both of my machines. I got this one after a bad experience with the trend net 2-port kvm-- it was completely dead. Nary an indicator light even shone.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this one working nicely. The hot-key instructions provided aren't very good, but after some experimentation I found that if you click scroll lock until it beeps, you then have to click scroll-lock + up or down arrow simultaneously for it to switch. Switching is rapid.

There are very light, *barely* noticeable horizontal bars on the monitor when both computers are running; but, I am using these machines for recording music, so I only care about sound anyway. Also, I run both at relatively high resolution. I haven't tried lower resolutions because I don't care enough to go on a hardware-troubleshooting wild goose chase. <br/> <br/>Great product, great value.

Every time you change from one machine to the other, the 2 Port KVM Switch emits a little chirp. I would like to strangle that little chirp, but this is my only complaint about the unit. It is an inexpensive but entirely satisfactory piece of equipment. Highly recommended.
