There are no ink blots when you're trying to write and taking care of the nibs are super easy. I'm constantly using it now instead of my regular pens.

ordered this set and when I picked it up from the office I was really excited to start writing with it. Work fine, and the seal was quite stunning.

I love this set and have used it quite a bit the ink is just the right thickness to flow smootly evenly and if you like the feel of writing with a quill pen on cotton paper you will love this the only issue is the price you can get this pen and quill set for a 1/4 of the price listed here at another retailer and yes this is retail price too. I bought mine for 18.00 yes the same exact thing and was shocked to see the cost here. Everything is the same pen ink packaging and vendor. Pays to shop around. The retailer I purchased it from a store in the town square in Williamsburg. I checked the store online and they list it for the price I purchased it for. Its a great gift for some one like me who loves calligraphy and who just loves to write on quality paper with a quality pen and ink. It was a little treat to myself. I did not open it for months until I got much better at calligraphy. You will enjoy it and I dont recommend it for kids it is an adult gift unless the child is extremely careful and its not done near carpeting on on a bed any material that can stain. I also purchased real quill pens the original and used the dipping ink and wrote on cotton paper it gives you a feel for what our ancestors wrote with and brings you a little closer to our American heritage was so happy that I bought it and when I return to Williamsbug I am going to purchase a few more the ink is indigo I believe but looks son beatiful on the paper its lighter on paper than it looks in the bottle. great gift for a soon to be lawyer, artist, historian, teacher, writer, and good for even some one who has never tried calligraphy or writing you will open up a whole new world to anyone who has not tried it.
