Used this in a recent trip overseas and it works great. Make sure to charge it to 100% using the included wall plug or usb cable before you go to a place without power. The built in solar charger will only charge the internal battery to 50% (this is no secret, but some people might overlook this in the description.) you can only get it to charge to 100% via usb/ac power. <br/> <br/>Anyhow, the unit works great. It's about the size of an iphone and comes with a velvet case, a usb cable and power adapter. Fully charged it refilled both an ipod and my droid phone. Using your white usb cable that comes with your iphone is the only way the iphone will know it's being charged, but you need that anyway because of the special iphone adapter on that cable, it's always best to use your phone's usb cable to ensure you wont run in to any suprises. So that's it in a nutshell, does exactly what it says it will for a decent price.

Since the charger has both a solar panel for energy charging and a battery to hold the energy, I am pleased that I can run my phone indefinitely off the power of the sun. While running the unit purely with solar has limitations (ie - you can only charge the charger to the 50% mark), I can easily work around those limits by paying attention to my use and charging habits. The price was excellent, I was pleased with the thoughtful accessories included, the LED light runs for 20 hours off a single charge, and I can be confident to have a working iPhone no matter when/where I go.

This solar-chargable battery pack does its job nicely. I like the button to Check the percent of charge by how many of 4 LEDs light up, and the Status LED that shows blue when switched on and ready to power a device, and red when it is charging from the sun. The white LED light on a flexible support that folds up into the side of the pack is clever.

Solar Panel Battery Charger can be underwhelming at times, but this one really outperformed what I expected for 20 dollars. Well worth having around for emergencies. Be well aware however, that solar energy can only halfway charge the battery, since at higher charges it cant do sufficient work on the battery to keep up charging after a certain point, but a great value otherwise.

Before I decided to spend the money on this charger I had Scosche SolBAT II Solar Powered Backup Battery and Solar Panel Battery Charger. The first one I had worked as long as you didn't use the cable they provided, but I left it on a plane and bought another one. The second one fried and you could smell the electrical smoke from a component blowing up internally and I sent it back. The third one wouldn't charge my Droid 2 at all so I returned it and bought this one. <br/> <br/>I love that it has a diagram that tells you how quickly it will charge as well as the percentages. It is a bonus it has a light...but a feature I wasn't particularly "looking" for. I also like that it has a switch so you get to choose whether it dissipates energy or not. I have had no issues charging my Droid 2 with this charger and would recommend it to friends. I will update if there are any issues that come up later. <br/> <br/>Arrived when stated and with appropriate accessories. I haven't tried the suction cups yet.
