I wanted this to record HD video onto my computer so I use component to connect it to my HD DVR. Recording HD looks exactly like the broadcast, not blu-ray quality but HD Cable quality and it works great. The software is good for recording but I wouldn't use it for much else. I tried to record HD with other software like Virtual Dub but I can only use analog SD with it but that's alright.

The installation of this product was quick and straight forward. The initial use of this product went very well, but after a few days the software started to get a little buggy. I then tried the beta drivers available for download at the Avermedia website and that solved all my problems.

I'm actually veyr happy with this device, it has performed way better than I expected. Video quality is great, and it also is viewable in my streaming programs so that I don't have to do some strange capture tricks in order to get it on uStream. Really great product, especially for the price.

The product does as it should and with good quality if you do the research. The software included is not the best way to capture the best image quality. there are a few tips on youtube and such to get it working properly. You need vhcapture which is free and fraps which is not for high quality recording of your video.

Let me start off by saying that the delivery was extremely quick and the packaging was high quality. The card installation was simple if you know what you're doing. The software installation was missing a driver somehow for my Windows 7 Dell Inspiron 530, but I found it easily on their website.

I simply keep the software on channel 3 and use my verizon set top remote control. I also have a VCR attached. Simply put, MY PC has become my TV. I no longer have a TV to burn electricity and hurt my eyes.
