Precision instrument always gives people a feeling of complicated manipulation. This 120x 350/50mm monocular astronomical telescope also gives out such a sense. However, it is pretty easy for operation. The pre-assembled tri-pod and altitude / azimuth mount make the scope very easy to set up and use. Even if the user is a beginner, he/she would definitely operate this monocular telescope easily. The astronomical telescope is lightweight and easy for your young astronomer to move around on their own in exploring outer space, observing landscape or wildlife at great distance. You can also share nights on the deck of looking at the stars and the moon with your beloved ones. Happy time comes with astronomical telescope. Great gift for any beginner who is interested in owning a Binoculars/Monocular telescope suitable for daytime and nighttime. Bid it, you cannot get a better one at this price.

Pros:
Nice and compact, does the job.
Cons:
The image in the "Spotter Scope" which mounts on the main unit, is inverted (upside down) and left to right image. Which makes it very difficult to do what it is designed to do and actually spot you target.
Other Thoughts:
I paid US$50+ for Express 3-5 day delivery and received the goods after 11 days, to late for Xmas.

I'm a friend of Mr. Watts, also legally blind but with some usable sight. I saw his Barska Blueline Monocular. Most smaller monoculars have lenses that are too small to let in sufficient light. This one is still small enough to be easily portable, yet has big lenses. It is by far the best for the money that I have found. Wish I'd had it when I first became legally blind!

After purching this telescope for myself, I was so pleased with it that I bought 4 more for my grandchildren, ages 10 through 18 for Christmas this year. I liked that it came with additional lens, which I didn't expect. Also, the CD's that came with my telescope are the best I've seen. Thank you for an excellect telescope and price.

I thought this was a great product for the price. Easy to set up and easy to use. I would suggest this as a purchase. I bought this telescope for my nephew to use it for views across the land as well as looking at the Moon and planets. As he is a beginner, the pre-assembled tri-pod and altitude / azimuth mount make the scope very easy to set up and use. After doing a little research, I found the good focal length would be an additional advantage for his first views.

I purchased this for someone in my family. The shipping time was perfect and I am told that the product was very nice. I was so happy with this purchase and delivery that I ordered again for another family member. Thank you. We purchased this telescope as a starter for our 10 year old son. It is easy to operate for him and us. He was so excited to see a close up view of the moon. It took only a few minutes to assemble, no difficulty there.

Things look a little blurry toward the edge. Chromatic aberration is also visible. Overall, it's still good quality for a zoom binocular. I'm happy with it. Price beat everyone I could find. Delivery was faster than expected. I highly recommend this merchant.

For the price, you can't beat this "spotting" scope as my 4.5 year old calls it. It is lightweight and easy for your young astronomer to move around on their own in exploring outer space. We have shared many nights on our deck looking at the stars and moon and I'm sure we'll enjoy many more with this telescope. Enjoy!

I bought this telescope for my nephew to use it for views across the land as well as looking at the Moon and planets. As he is a beginner, the pre-assembled tri-pod and altitude / azimuth mount make the scope very easy to set up and use. After doing a little research, I found the 350mm focal length would be an additional advantage for his first views. We also found that the supplied 3x Barlow is useful with only the 20mm eyepiece. If it's used with the 6mm eyepiece, the resulting 120x power exceeds the capability of the 50mm lens. However the 6mm eyepiece used alone provides 133x and works well with bright objects like the Moon. The red dot locater, once I helped him align it to the telescope, proved to be very helpful in aiming at objects in the sky. I also found the diagonal prism enabled him to view objects on the ground right-side-up as opposed to upside down or backwards. Also the Planetarium CD has been very helpful for him as he learns more about his new hobby. I would recommend this telescope for any beginner who is interested in owning a telescope suitable for daytime and nighttime

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter to use; after she expressed interest in a telescope, I planned to go out with her a couple of times, show her the basics, then set her free with a kid's astronomy book. While the telescope seems ok for her to operate by herself after instruction, the tripod is absolutely pathetic. I need to buy a new tripod so my daughter can finally use this gift as it was meant to be used.

My children were so excited that they can finally see planets and the moon! It was very easy to put together and they are using it weekly! Also, it's very easy to assemble and your first look is only minutes away. I'd definately recommend this telescope for teenagers or anyone getting started in scoping.
