I love this recorder except for its inability to directly record .mp3 audio files for easy transfer to other devices. <br/> <br/>When Sony introduced the ICD-PX820 that fixes that problem, that also connects to Macs, with twice as much memory and recording time, with other features, and at a lower cost, I immediately bought an 820 too. The 820 seems better in every way except one. Sony changed the way one button works. On the 720, you can readily see how much recording time remains by pushing one button; but on the 820, you have to use multiple button pushes and go through a series of menus to do the same thing. Nonetheless the 820 is the better recorder.

The product simply works as advertised. I use this in conjunction with Dragon Naturally Speaking, and the accuracy from the built in mike is good, but not as good as with my noise canceling headphones. Since my headphones have 1/8" plugs, I can use them with this for better accuracy.

For me the most important thing is that recordings are clear during playback, even in for lectures in medium size rooms.

I have tried numerous digital voice recorders from Olympus and Panasonic and call it bad luck or whatever they would either stop working completely or the microphone would start to go bad after only a few months. The camera works perfectly. I fly model airplanes and bought the camera to take flying videos. It's small and light and works well in the air. The service from the vendor was quick and excellent. I'm having a great time with it. Uses are limited only by imagination.

I was impressed with the video quality of this little device. Just as good as my Nikon Coolpix if not better. I hooked it up to my Mac and my PC at work. Shows up like a flash drive where you can drag the videos and photos to a folder. Use it as a flash drive if you want. If this thing lasts for 6 months, I'll get another one. Keep it handy for those times when you don't have your good camera, but need to take a video or photo (car accidents, UFOs, bigfoot, etc). Go to YouTube and type in "Gum Cam" to see the video quality of vids uploaded by owners.

This DVR system in my opinion is the best system out there. Very simple to set up, great quality and options of recording. You can view from any PC with internet and adjust your settings over the internet. The motion recording works great.
