Other Thoughts:I am very satisfied with this DVR Video Capture Card. This item was very cheap, in great condition, and was shipped in a reasonable amount of time.
Other Thoughts:I have had no problems installing this card using MS Vista 64b on a fast Core2 Duo system. I used the latest drivers and an alternate AverMedia Media Center v1.7.8 vs. the v1.7.5 that is listed for this device on the AverMedia web site. The v1.7.8 is listed for a different device but is also available from the AverMedia site. This was suggested by someone I read in a forum on this device. This version is supposed to be better on capturing HD content, I have never tried the older version so I can't compare. So far I have not had any problems with the device or it's software. The software is a little clunky and bare boned compared to other capture programs I have used but it does work. I have not tried all the features yet but so far so good.
Other Thoughts:i revently was doing some tests and this capture card can capture resolutions from non standard sources PC like 1360x1024,or 1680x1050,1600x900xeverything lower than 1080i this is great i love it and its gonna take me a long way oh and i thinks its running at x4 Due to my CrossfireX Setup x8-x8- As Well This Is sitting in an x16 slot rely on it OH BUYERS WHEN YOU ARE SETTING UP DONT PICK AVI AS RECORDING FILE TYPE..
Other Thoughts:This is good card for home or small business security. The included software is very easy to use and has a many useful features. These include a very good motion detector with meaningful parameters and masking. The video quality is not bad. You can pick among different compression protocols and choose the quality level. I have this card running 24/7 for months with no problems. Be aware that this card supports 30 FPS total, so with four cameras you will drop to 7.5 FPS. Still, very useful for security. The software is top-notch and easy to use, but also be aware you are committing to use it instead of other s/w because the card only works with the bundled s/w.
Other Thoughts:I really like the DVR Video Capture Card and it seems like they keep improving the software which is already very robust. I am using it with QSee cameras from a Security DVR package I no longer use. I'm sure there are nicer products, but I was impressed given the price point.
