I was looking for a converter box that I could use with my DVR/DVD recorder, since very few recorders of this type are available with an ATSC (digital) tuner. I found nothing comparable to my Panasonic DVD recorder with built in Hard Drive. You program your DVR to record at the desired time and then program the QS-8898 to come on at the that same time. If you want to change stations at a later time, you simply program another start time into the QS-8898. (You can program up to 8 start times) The only drawback is that you cannot program an end time. However you set the overall run time for how long you want the unit to stay on and it will turn itself off after that amount of time. (I chose 2 hours) Since your DVR will stop recording at the end of it's program, leaving the converter box on longer doesn't pose a problem. (actually this is not so bad. you don't have to set a stop time in the Zinwell program) To be able to watch a different show than the one recording, I simply put an RF splitter on the coax cable coming in from the antenna then used the two outputs from the splitter for the TV and converter box. The unit has a video output that I use an the input to my DVR and recording quality, although not high definition, is very good.

Everyone I've ever dealt with at Dinodirect.com, whether in-store or by phone, is excellent. Staff is competent and knowledgeable, and every one of them seems to have a cheerful, helpful attitude that is obvious as soon as you deal with them. Their online scan of my converter was right on the money.I received the right parts, delivered on time exactly as I ordered.Dinodirect's online instructions were easy to understand and made installation a breeze.Purchasing from Dnodirect.com is seamless.

Diodirect.com is the next to New Egg alternative E-shopping place for me. They also are very good at satisfying a customer w/price and service. I have a very good shopping experience w/both. Diodirect.com has resolved any bump that has arisen in a very satisfactory manner.

Have just placed an order for the first time and of course have not received the product but so far I can say the process is user friendly and the price is the best of 4 places I checked. Anyway, i am really happy with my items for all of them has good quality with such a low price.Good.

Just like having a regular tv in my bedroom! This is a great alternative until I can afford to buy that thousand dollar flat panel lcd! =D Haven't had any issues. Picture is very clear. Remote is great. I get all the channels. Couldn't ask for anything better.

I am very pleased with Dinodirect.com right now. I ordered an item from them and on the confirmation it stated a later ship date and date to get to me. I called and spoke to a really nice young lady there to see if I could change the address, so that the item would get to me sooner. Although she was really nice, she stated that she couldn't change it. I said "no problem, thanks for checking." I got confirmation that same day that my item was shipped out and at priority shipping. I will definitely use this company again and recommend them just on outstanding customer service alone.

I LOVE this little box it really comes in handy. I just moved into a new apt and didn't have money to get a brand new tv at the moment so I got this to use with my 20'' LCD monitor instead. The picture quality is amazing. If I didn't know I was using a monitor I'd think I was watching regular tv. Lifesaver!! I also love that the box is small and light so I can take it along with me when I travel. Must-have item!
