W/prerequsites above met, Windows machines need no additional drivers or install - just plugged into PC (600 MHz Celeron e-Machine) and turned machine on - recognized card immediately on 1st boot - saw my attached thumbdrive at the same time.
Super cheap upgrade (along w/more RAM) to keep older PC's in service.
Bought here - easy, quick transaction.
Other Thoughts:I bought this card to enable my small server to connect all my external harddrives it works so well I was thinking of ordering another. it plugged and played on my win 2000 machine, and they even threw in a driver CD for good measure. I think SYBA is a good company for thinking all of the angles out.
Other Thoughts:had er for about a week. wasnt sure if it'd even work with the dinosaur of a board i got, my computer had 2 1.1 ports on the board but i needed 2.0 speeds for my external HD and flash, installation was very simple and transfer rates are much better :)
Other Thoughts:I simply opened my old Dell Dimension 8200 PC, placed the card into an available slot and it worked perfectly. Windows XP immediately recognized the hardware and no additional software (i.e., drivers) needed to be installed.
