- I bought my girlfriend the new Ipod nano that plays videos and the first try with this product didn't go all that fast, didn't read it for a few seconds, and just weird things happened. The second time we tried it, it work alright to a reasonable rate and does pretty much what it says it will do. But from then on we used my GF's new cord that came with her ipod.
Pros: Great product, i take it everywhere, good enough length, and a great replacement for a broken or lost cord.
Cons: Bad length if you wanna wrap it from the back of your computer through all the other wirings, around the monitor, past the speakers, etc... its only about 2 feet. AND, like i said, it only works right depending on the situation your computer or laptop is in. New computer + not a lot of programs + great processor = great fast product. Old computer + lots of programs + old or slow processor = slow product.
Last but not least, with all Dinodirect or other products, some companies have a very small percentage of bad products so if you get one... send it back for another one and try again.

- I bought my retractable ipod sync cable from SF Planet. I bought it for use with my 5.5 generation ipod because the original apple cable stopped working and even though I purchased extended warranty from target they would not cover it. I figured for only $3 including shipping what have I got to lose. I have been using this cable for several months now with zero problems.

- This was the cheapest connector I could find to replace my cord when the vacuum ate it! I've only had it a couple of hours, but my experience so far is that the construction is definitely cheap (I ordered two and one of them suffers from the wires being exposed slightly where they go into the USB connection). Fortunately, these are cheap as dirt. Be warned that mine came in a standard USPS shipping envelope with no packaging. Looks like they just tossed them in and shipped them. Also, they oddly made the shipping "Time Sensitive." Good for me, because I was relying on my car adapter for power for a few days!

- If you have an iPhone and have USB ports in multiple places like home, work, your car, etc, then just get a bunch of these, and you'll never need to worry about carrying a charger... I'm buying this for my iPod Touch, but my phone has a mini-USB port (a very cheap, generic part) and I'm incredibly happy with my decision to buy about five mini-USB-to-USB cables and station them everywhere I might potentially need one. It's great for peace of mind, and I'd suggest it as a strategy to any smartphone user.
For this particular part: I got this back in July to replace the ratty old cable that had come with my iPod originally. It's superior in basically every way. I don't have much else to say than that. This is a cable priced cheaply, but it works 100% fine, and the spooling action is great for travel. I've had no problems in the half-year since I bought mine, and I'm actually here to buy another one so that I can keep one at home and keep one in my laptop bag.

- Being that this product was a mere cheap price when I bought it, I wasn't expecting much. The reviews said mostly positive things about it, but there are times when I speculate the validity of others ill advised opinions. That being said, this product broke my expectations.
The retract feature works much better than I ever thought it would. I have had retractable ethernet cables before that were very cheaply made, resulting in a broken cable and increased latency. This product, on the other hand, is very simply made but with quality components. The retract feature works seemingly flawless.
In addition, I had no problems charging or using data transfer. It connected and transferred flawlessly.
The only thing that bothered me was the high shipping cost. I purchased 3 to have on hand at work/home/laptop bag and paid ~$1 for the product, but a wopping $9 for shipping. Nearly 10x the cost of the product for shipping? That just seems unreasonable.

- I have had this cable for a few month and use it to charge my iPhone in my pocket with a battery pack. It retracts well, but the iPhone end of the flat cable is already breaking where it connects to the iPhone plug. If I didn't use it in my pocket, it probably would last much longer so I still gave it 4 stars.

- The price was right, and the product works. Much cheaper than the Apple version! The only issue I can see is that the cable might not retract properly every time, but that is not an issue for me.

- Nice replacement or back up for your original sync cables. I still have my originals but I prefer to use these over my originals which gave me problems after only five uses. Most of the time I use the wireless syncing but for down loading a lot and faster I rely on this year old cable.
