How to Install a Wall Plate:
A wall plate is the final piece of trim work to finish your electrical device installation. Find wall plates at your local home improvement store; they come in a variety of materials including plastic, metal and wood. They also make oversized wall plates that allow you to hide drywall imperfections if the hole in the drywall is slightly too large around the electrical box. Being UL listed, wall plates are required for your home to pass an electrical inspection
- Pick out the correct wall plate for your installation. It should have cutouts that match what your box contains -- including two outlet devices, a switch device and a switch/outlet combination device
- Unwrap the wall plate from its plastic wrapping. This wrapping keeps your wall plate protected and also contains the screws that will secure the wall plate to the electrical device. Set these screws aside for now
- Position the wall plate on the wall over the outlet. Orientation does not usually matter for outlets or switches, but definitely matters if you have an outlet/switch-combination plate. Ensure it fits tightly to the wall, and do not force it
- Place each screw into one of the mounting holes on the wall plate and turn your screwdriver clockwise to tighten the screws. Tighten the wall plate until it's snug against the wall
How to Adjust Wall Plates:
Wall plates around your wall light switches and electrical outlets, decoratively conceal the hole for the junction box. Sometimes wall plates are improperly installed or the hole in the wall is cut incorrectly, requiring some adjustment. Adjusting wall plates varies depending upon the situation. Most adjustments simply require a screwdriver to fix the plate and conceal the hole and junction box
- Turn the screw securing the wall pate to the switch clockwise with a flat-head screwdriver. Light switches have two screws while outlet plates usually have one screw. Do not overtighten the screw. The screw head should fit flush inside the wall plate.
- Replace the screw with a wall plate screw, if the head protrudes above the plate. Wall plate screws have a tapered angle head that fit snugly into the wall plate.
- Loosen a the screw on a wall plate that is crooked and exposing the opening of the junction box. Realigning the wall plate and retighten the screw.
- Purchase wall plate trim at a home improvement center, if the hole in the wall was cut incorrectly for the wall plate to completely cover the hole. Plate trim is rectangular pieces of plastic that fit under the outside edge of the wall plate.
- Remove the screw securing the wall plate and pull the wall plate away from the wall. Place the plate trim on the back of the wall plate, ensuring the trim is evenly extending on each side of the plate. Position the wall plate over the junction box and secure with the screw

12-06-2011- Other Thoughts: We bought this to hold up our 32" tv in our bedroom. It works perfect for us! The arm can be adjusted for how far you need it from the wall, it rotates left and right, up and down. This was the best deal for a wall mount, and for what we needed it to do. The up and down rotation is a little tough, but it can be loosened and re-tightened if needed.

01-05-2012- Other Thoughts: We are extremely pleased with the wall mount from Cheetah Mounts. Everything was exactly as advertised, and very straight forward to install. The snap on covers over the mounting screws was a bonus as I did not even notice them before purchasing! All in all it works very well with my 42" flatscreen.

10-30-2011- Other Thoughts: Got it along with a free HDMI cable. HDMI cable works, but was surprised with quality of the mount, it is fantastic ! It is one of those things made to withstand a nuclear assault, comes with a ton of extra nuts and bolts. Buy it and your grandchildren will still be using it !

I figured that the experience would be worth the money, then I could make a better choice later & buy what I wanted. As it turned out, this is a great product at any price!!!!!
