How to Make Button Magnets:

• Select or buy a few buttons that you like. Choose different shapes, colors and styles of buttons so you have a lot to choose from and can use them in interesting combinations
• Clean your button in rubbing alcohol mixed with water so the glue will better adhere to it
• Cut a strip of magnet a bit smaller than your button, or choose a circle magnet that is smaller than your button
• Add a small amount of glue to the back of the button
• Attach the magnet to the back of the button, pressing firmly for a few seconds to make sure that it adheres well
• Put your button on the refrigerator or on a memo board to hold anything made from light paper

Fabric-Covered Magnets:

• Covered button kits are available in a variety of sizes. They're a two-piece set that you can cover with fabric and snap together to coordinate with an outfit. Find fabrics with small images that fit the size of your button, such as storybook or cartoon characters, flowers, animals or designs. Cut the images to the size on the button kit package and add a layer of thin interfacing with lightweight fabric to prevent glare from the metal button showing through. Remove the shank from the back of the button with pliers and add a magnet with strong glue

Stacked Button Magnets:

• Coordinate different sizes, shapes and colors of buttons to form a stack, with a larger button on the bottom and two or three smaller buttons on top.
