How to Properly Cut a Cigar:
- Use a guillotine or cigar scissors to remove the top 1/8 inch of the cigar, making a straight cut where the tip begins to curve from the body. Place the cigar into the hole of the guillotine and press the blades together, being careful not to cut at an angle. If you're using scissors, make one quick cut. Guillotines work best on cigars up to 54 ring gauge
- Insert a punch cutter into the closed end of the cigar, twist gently and remove the core. Punch cutters work well on mixed filler and large ring gauge cigars. They also enable you to adjust the size of the cut
- Place a V-cutter against the head of the cigar and press the lever. V-cutters work well on thinner cigars
How to Sharpen a Cigar Cutter:
- Inspect the cutter to determine how dull it is and where exactly it needs to be sharpened. Make sure the blade is out and not recessed so it can easily be sharpened
- Hold the cigar cutter in your left hand and the sharpening stone in your right. Turn your left arm slightly inward and make sure it is away from your body
- Line the stone piece up with the cigar cutter and carefully run it straight through the cutter. Repeat the process about 10-15 times or until the blade is the desired sharpness
- Inspect the blade to make sure it has been properly sharpened. Check to see that all the sides and the entire area are equally sharp and if necessary sharpen it a few more times with the stone

03-10-2011- Other Thoughts: It's cheap, but surprisingly sturdy. I read a few people say it broke after a couple uses but they must have been using it wrong because I've been using it for a couple months without the slightest hint of it falling apart.

02-10-2011- Other Thoughts: Very nice, lightweight, with two razor sharp blades! This is an easy to handle and accurate cutter, and its not spring loaded which is also a good thing since they tend to "stick" and lock up.

03-23-2011- Other Thoughts: My husband has been wanting to try a variety pack of different types of cigars, and I purchased this to go along with what he received at birthday. It was easy to use, and it is fantastic for the price!
