How to Connect a Cordless Phone to Skype:

Skype is a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) application that can be used to make and receive phone calls involving other Skype users, landlines, mobile phones and international phone numbers. There are a number of cordless phones developed by Skype, Netgear, Dual phone and other companies that allow users to connect a Skype account to a cordless phone device. Among the benefits of using a cordless phone with Skype is freedom of movement when on a phone call.- Plug the cordless phone charger into an electrical outlet. Skype-compatible phones will include a standard charging cradle that holds the cordless phone when not in use.
- Insert rechargeable batteries into the cordless phone. These batteries should be included with the phone and may be installed by the factory. When setting up the phone for the first time, be sure to charge the cordless phone for a sufficient amount of time, typically at least six hours, before continuing with installation.
- Plug the Internet-relay Skype base unit into an electrical outlet and connect the device to an existing Internet connection by using an Ethernet cable. The base unit looks like a router and must be connected to the Internet through a modem or router by using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect the cordless phone charging cradle to the base unit by using a standard telephone cable.
- Turn on the cordless phone handset once all the units are plugged in, connected and charged. You will be presented with some configuration options before you can begin using the phone.
- Select your preferred language on the phone and then press the "Talk" button.
- Select "Accept" on the phone and then press the "Talk" button to accept the Skype license agreement.
- Enter your country code number on the phone and then press the "Talk" button. The country code for the United States is 1.
- Enter your area code on the phone and then press the "Talk" button. After this step, the handset will restart. Continue to the next step once it has completed restarting.
- Select "Skype Sign In" and enter your Skype username and password. The phone will now download your Skype contacts for easy access from the handset. When the download completes, the phone is ready to be used with your Skype account.
Tips and Warning:

- Standard cordless phones will not work with Skype. It is necessary for the Skype software to be installed on the phone so calls can be directed through the Internet connection. Make sure the cordless phone being used is compatible with Skype.

03-07-2011- Other Thoughts: In the past few weeks i've placed 3 orders with the site and my first order arrived and was 100% satisfied with the company. I am still waiting my next two orders but the customer service by email has been quick and easy to work with.

02-21-2011- Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with their service. I ordered a combo items in order to get a reduced price on the second items but when I checked out, it charged my card for the full amount instead of the discounted amount. I emailed the company and in less than 24 hours had a response back stating that they would be crediting the difference of the discounted price back to my charge card. I was very pleased that they handled this matter so promptly and honestly. Excellent customer service!

03-27-2011- Other Thoughts: This phone works. The driver is a minor issue unless you have a Mac. <br/> <br/>For those who complain about delays in voice, the phone is not the one to blame. You need to learn how VOIP works before making your statement. IRAQ is not next door. For a network packet to prapagate to Iraq, it has to travels thru hudreds of hubs. 15 seconds sounds long but not all that unreasonable considering sattellites are involved in the transmission.

05-01-2011- Other Thoughts: The Skype internet telephone service is excellent, however I was hoping that this telephone would be just a plug in and use device. Unfortunately even if the PC you plug it into has Skype, you cannot use it unless you load driver software which means you cannot use this telephone on public PCs or Internet Cafes as they do not allow this. <br/>If you want a telephone with good features that is always available beside your always on PC then this is a good unit, however if you travel around a lot and have to grab access where you can, buy a ZipLinq microphone headset and carry a wireless capable laptop. <br/>Personally I am now using a standard microphone & audio earphone headset plugged into my sound card on my PC at home for skype.

02-08-2011- Other Thoughts: I picked up this Skype Phone to have more flexibility using skype for international work calls from home. It has been so great that I have transitioned all of my business calls to this line and just foward or bring this phone with when I am not at my home office. I would purchase from them again.
