How to Use a Universal Remote With an XBox 360:
- Remove the remote control's battery cover and insert two AA batteries. Replace the cover
- Point the remote toward the game console. Press any button; the entire keypad should light up. The Xbox 360 universal media remote is preconfigured by Microsoft for your convenience. Using infrared technology, your console will automatically recognize the remote
- Use the buttons on your remote for similar functions to those on your game controller. Many are self-explanatory. The Xbox Guide button, found at the top center of the remote, turns the console on or off. When you are in a game or other Xbox menu, this button will also allow you to navigate the various menus and system settings. Although they cannot be used during game play, the Y, X, A and B buttons have the same functions on the remote as they do on your game controller; follow the button options shown on your screen

If you use your XBox 360 to watch DVDs, I definitely recommend taking look at this remote. It makes moving through your DVD easy and "normal".

This product does exactly what I purchased it to do. No it doesn't have many features that you cant accomplish with controller, but not having to "wake up" the controller every time the phone rings and I have to pause the movie is really what I was looking for. Whether or not its worth the money is your decision not mine or any other reviewer. It does what it says it will do, and I'll leave it at that.

Its simple, you can use your controler to do most of the fuctions this remote can do but, it takes a lot more time. Same differance with highspeed and dialup. If you have dont mind taking a little longer to get things done then use the controler. Personally, I like my 360 remote!

This is worth buying if you don't want to use your controller to navigate through the menus and stuff. I bought this because I'm also using my xbox 360 as a media center, so while watching a movie on it, it sucked to have to turn the controller back on (cuz they go to sleep after so many minutes of inactivity). This one is nice, I was tempted to buy the cheaper non-microsoft one but I'm glad I didn't. This one is really nice

This remote is very useful when using the xbox 360 as a DVD Player. Although my husband seems to be able to control anything with the game controller, I have always struggled with the controller when watching a dvd. SO this remote has helped me out a lot. The buttons light up when the remote is touched which is nice in a dark room (for watching movies). The remote can also be used a universal control for TV or other electronics apart from the console. Very good quality and useful.

I play competitively for super smash bros. melee still, so I needed a controller that had quality. I had bought a controller from gamestop and the Y button wouldn't work. When i got my new white controller it was perfect for competitive use, and it will also work for casual gamers as well. It is the best controller that I have had so far.
