- A Rugged US to UK Adapter

- Although not the cheapest unit available I picked this Eforcity Adapter for its excellent build quality. It also accepts US 3 prong (ground) plugs, which many adapters will not handle (some only the US 2 prong polarized plug), So be careful. Also be careful and be sure that the device you are using it with can handle the UK electrical requirements which are 220 volts, 50 cycles. This adapter does not convert UK voltage to US voltage. You have to buy a CONVERTER, not an ADAPTER to do that. All in all a very well made product for less than 10 dollars delivered. It will keep my laptop running nicely during my extended stay in the UK.

- I placed an order in mid July but did not get the package 4 weeks later. I called the customer service and was instructed to file an online claim for refund. I did so and got reply from a representative saying they had the post office to trace the parcle down. Shortly after that, I got my package. Very helpful service and I would like to do business with Dinodirect.com again!

- I purchase from Dinodirect regularly. Because I buy from them so often, I have had to return items several times. Dinodirect has always been exceptional to work with. They are one of my favorite online stores. Shipping is nearly always within days, and I almost always use the free shipping. If there is every any problem with my item, Dinodirect gets me a return shipping label and they pay for the return, or credit me right away if an item is ever lost in the mail.
Most things I buy from Dinodirect is less, or at least the same, as I can get it any other place, and they ship it right to my door.

- Very clever and compact little adapter. Just be aware that when you extend some of the prongs, you must use the LOCK switch to lock them into place.
I saw the lock switch and assumed it was used only to lock the prongs back into the adapter when the prongs weren't in use. Wrong... you use this lock both when extending the prongs for use and when pushing them back to conceal them. If you don't lock the prongs when using them protruded, then you can't plug the adapter in. The outlet will appear to be pushing the adapter right back out again.
I didn't lock the prongs when extended and was absolutely baffled why every outlet in my house appeared to be pushing the adapter out again when I plugged it in. I theorized that the outlets had some secret spring-loaded safety feature and that the adapter was defective because it was tripping this non-existent safety feature. I even started to make a video review to prove to skeptics that my outlets were pushing out the adapter whenever I plugged it in.
A neighbor finally examined the adapter and reminded me of the lock switch... mystery solved, and I feel like someone with the IQ of a houseplant.

- First off, this is NOT a voltage converter so if you have 110V appliances, make sure the power plugs for those are universal (i.e., accept 110-240V) before using them with this overseas. Also, the pics on Amazon sort of make it seem like you get three adapters, but they are really just different modes of the same adapter -you only get one adapter.
I like that this adapter is compact and lightweight and it comes in a small cloth carrying case. This was important to me because I didn't want anything too bulky or heavy. And unlike other adapters you don't have to carry around all these other plug extensions (i.e., one for each plug type). You can flip a switch on either side and either a UK, Europe, Asia, or US plug will surface. You can then flip or press the other plugs back into the device so that only one plug type is sticking out (just like in the pictures). I used this in Europe with no problems - as you can see, the Europe plug juts out more than the other modes. This is very important since many outlets in Europe are inset, and without that extra length on the plug, the adapter would not reach the outlet.
Also, this adapter is universal on both sides. So you can plug virtually any type of plug into it as well. All in all, a great product and a great value.
