This is a great gadget and I feel that the results are pretty accurate. I have found that you really need to position this in just the right spot on your wrist, though, as it seems like an inch higher or lower makes a big difference. I've found that placing the lower edge about where the lower edge of my watch normally sits seems to have the most accurate readings (about 1.5" from my palm).

This small, easy to use, unit is kept in a small portable carrying case. It's very easy to use by placing around your wrist with your free hand. It self-inflates and has a very easy to read screen. I like having the ability to save your most recent readings. I definitely would recommend this product.

I was recently diagnosed with hypertension. A friend suggested I get a BP monitor so that I wasn't relying on the often dirty and uncalibrated free monitors at the drug store. This monitor was extremely easy to use -- so much so that I actually enjoy taking and tracking my blood pressure. All you do is strap the monitor on your wrist according to the diagram sewn on the strap, hold your wrist up by your heart and wait for it to finish. It's that easy!

I need to take my blood pressure at least a couple of times a day. I have been using the Blood Pressure Monitor which is a full-size, table top system, with an upper-arm cuff. It works fine, but is large to pack on a trip. I got this wrist unit to travel with, and it's amazing. First, the results agree to within a point or two with the big unit (which in turn agrees well with measurements at the doctor's office). So, it's consistently accurate. <br/> <br/>Second, it's cool to use - at least for gadget freaks. You fasten it to your wrist, turn it on, and it starts beeping. Holding the elbow of the arm with the device on it with the opposite hand, you start raising your wrist toward your heart. As you near the right location, the beeping gets faster, and when you are right on, the machine starts running. You just hold it there for a bit until it stops running, and you're done. Works every time. <br/> <br/>It's actually easier to take BP with this machine than with the big one, so you give up nothing by going to the small system. <br/>Third, it's nice and small - easy to pack away in a suitcase. <br/>My only gripe is that the memory holds only one set of readings, and my wife and I both use it - it's handy to have two memories, as the big system does. But we can separate by values, and it all works out. <br/>It's always good to see technology applied successfully, and OMRON seems to have done it in this case. It's a winner.

I have used this a few times since purchased and it is extremely easy to use. All you do is pop in the batteries (included) and put it on your wrist and hit start. The measuring seems very accurate. I also have a watch that measures heart rate, and I have checked it against the wrist cuff, and they always come out the same or within one reading. The memory feature is good, but you may still need to track yours on paper if more than one person uses it because it just tracks the last 60 readings with no other info.

I was looking for a device that would be easy for my 88 year-old mother to use on her own. She was told to monitor her blood pressure, but can't use the public style because they are set to test the left arm. Because of prior surgery, her left arm can't be used. So, when looking for the wrist type, this monitor had all the qualities I was looking for. When we received it and showed Mom how to use it, she found it easy to use and easy to read because the screen uses large print. She doesn't have to write anything down. She takes it to her doctor and he can read back through the last 90 days (one reading per day). Because she has an occasional problem with ventricular tachycardia, the monitor also lets her know if the heart is beating irregularly with a simple picture. The cuff beeps when you have it positioned properly for inflation. This isn't a function that is useful for Mom, because she is hard of hearing. But, fortunately, the beep isn't really necessary because positioning is easy for everyone--fingertips on your shoulder. I have recommended this monitor to everyone. I am a dental hygienist and frequently have to monitor blood pressure readings on my patients. I bought one for use at my office. It is quite accurate according to my patients. So I've found nothing negative about this product.

I've been shopping with Dinodirect.com for a long time for business as well as personal purchases and rarely have problems with them. Delivery speed is excellent as well as the accuracy of the online tracking. Customer Service is wonderful and do their best to resolve problems when they happen which is only occasionally. I recommend Dinodirect.com to all my friends and co-workers. When I want something right away, I look on their site first before I shop around, and most of the time I return to purchase what I want

Bought this as a backup for my Becton-Dickinson Wrist Unit, which is no longer available. It works with a similar accuracy, which is more than I can say for some other units -- similar meaning totally accurate! For those who are not aware, your blood pressure is almost never the same twice, even twice in a row with no delays -- but twice in a row should be very close, and with the B-D and this unit, it is. Didn't have my doctor check this one, because he's checked the B-D exhaustively, and this one gets the same (almost identical) results. Don't forget to keep the unit at heart-level -- fingertips just touching your opposite shoulderbone (between shoulder and neck). Good Luck!

Product FAQs
  • How do you use a wrist blood pressure monitor to get an accurate reading?
  • You put it on like a watch but it needs to go on the underside of the wrist and then you have to sit quietly...no talking or moving around...to get an accurate reading. also be sure you use the same wrist each time you take a reading so then you can compare the results. but remember that blood pressures naturally fluctuate a little throughout the day.

  • Sometimes there are some error message, please tell me why??
  • You get an error message because the monitor operates by recording the cuff-pressure when certain audible signals (Korotkoff sounds) are recognized by the internal microphone, and are registered as 'Systolic' and 'Diastolic'. That is, isn't actually measuring your arterial pressure at all, ... just the cuff pressures when the noises first come and then disappear. Doctors think these are true pressures, but of course, when you think about it, they aren't, and couldn't possibly be.

  • Does anyone know the right position for a wrist blood pressure monitor?
  • If it is of standard design, place the monitor unit on the inside of your wrist so that the readout is facing you. Then sit in a chair, with your elbow on a table and with the monitor at the same level as your heart. That will give you the most accurate reading. If the readings are still suspect then check batteries, or get the monitor serviced (or take yourself to your doctor!).
