How to Use Air Purifiers
Steps:- Get a big enough air filter. There are some small filters that work great in cozy rooms but aren't going to do the trick in a big living room. Air filters usually come with recommendations which tell you how big a room they should be used in
- Clean and maintain your air purifier regularly. HEPA air filters need to have their filters replaced, whereas electrostatic filters need to be taken out and cleaned. Many air filters have automatic warning lights that tell you when they need to be cleaned
- Keep doors and windows closed. Air purifiers are not very effective when air is continually moving in and out of the room. If you like a breeze during the day, turn the air purifier off to save energy. Then, close the windows at night and run the filter
- Put the air purifier near to any known source of dirty air. Air ducts can circulate a lot of dust along with heated air, so you might want to keep your air purifier near the duct
- Keep your room clean. An air purifier can only do so much. You need to regularly remove dust from the air and discourage the growth of mold through good housekeeping
- Don't block the filter. Make sure the intake vents and the air output are at least a few feet away from any nearby objects
How to Clean an Air Purifier
When cleaning an air purifier, your best resource is your purifier's manual. If you do not have the manual any longer, do a search online for the manual. You will need to know the maker, model and serial numbers of your air purifier to find the manual online. If you still cannot find the information, try these simple, generic steps to clean your air purifier.
Steps:- Locate the air purifier's filter. Many times this is located underneath and toward the back of the air purifier. Note where it came from and what direction it was placed in the air purifier
- Carefully pull out the filter. Place disposable filters in a plastic bag and take them to a store for comparison and find the exact replacement filter. If it's a reusable filter, clean gently with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly until all suds are out of the filter. Shake out the filter to remove any excess water. Set the air purifier's filter aside when finished
- Disassemble the air purifier as much as possible. Make sure you keep track of what you are doing so that putting it back together is easier. You may want to take notes for easier assembly later
- Use a damp cloth wet with warm water to wipe down the entire purifier and all its parts. Wipe out all the grooves really well
- Leave all the air purifier's parts on a clean surface to dry completely. This may take several hours, depending on the consistency of the filter
- Reassemble your air purifier once it is dry. It is now clean and should be working properly

09-07-2011- Other Thoughts: The Electronic Air Purifier is fantastic. I bought one for the office and one for home. It has removed all moldy smells and leaves a lingering fresh air smell throughout. A must for a clean fresh scent throughout your space. The away mode is fantastic and remote control is perfect. A must for dogs, partiers, smokers, and the like. I highly recommend one for office and home.

07-06-2011- Other Thoughts: A friend of mine recommended this HEPA Air Purifier. She was on medications for allergies to the dog and bird she has in the home. Her grandson, who lives with her, always had red eyes and sniffles. Since she got the purifier, she no longer needs meds and the boy is 100% healthy! It's a great product.

09-21-2011- Other Thoughts: I have had this unit for about 4 years. I put them in the hallways of a hi-rise elderly apartment building, and some of the comman areas. I just bought another one for my basement at home and it made a world of difference. No more musty odor. I have had no problem getting parts from my distributor at a reasonable price. I have replaced some filters where I had heavy smokers, as a matter of fact. I recommend this Ozone Generator Purifier.
