Thanks for visiting! This iPad Camera Connection Kit gives you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera: using your camera's USB cable or directly from an SD card. iPad and camera connection kit support JPEG, RAW formats and so on. Use the SD Card Reader to import photos directly from your camera's SD card. Connect it to your iPad, and then insert your digital camera's SD card into the slot. After you make the connection, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which pictures to import, then organizes the selected photos into albums. When you sync iPad to your PC or Mac, the photos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library. So what are you still waiting for?

How to Use a Card Reader in Windows XP:

Most digital cameras and camera phones write pictures to portable flash media. These compact cards can then be removed from the device and inserted into a card reader to transfer the pictures to your computer. These card readers use a USB interface to communicate with the computer. This provides relatively fast transfer speeds that can download several gigabytes of pictures in a short period of time.
There are no specific minimum computer requirements to support a card reader. As long as your Windows XP-based PC has at least one functioning USB port, the card reader will be compatible. All readers are not compatible with all memory cards, so make sure your media type is listed on the card reader's box before purchasing it.

    Instructions:

    • Insert the memory card into the reader. If the card reader supports multiple types of cards, look at each slot to see which one is closet to the size of the one you are trying to read. If you encounter resistance, do not force the card, simply turn it around until it fits properly. It will only go in one way, and when facing the right direction, the card will slide right in with little force
    • Plug the card reader's USB cable into a free USB port on your computer. If you have no available ports, you will have free one up by unplugging one of the devices that is currently connected. Another alternative is to install a USB hub, which splits one port into several. The USB cable will only insert in one direction, so if it doesn't go in, flip it around and try again
    • Windows will take a moment to recognize the new device, then will automatically initialize it as a USB card reader. When it is done configuring the device, a message balloon will pop up near the lower right corner of the screen telling you that the device is ready to be used. The installation is entirely automatic, so no input by you is required
    • Depending on your settings, a window offering to display the contents of the memory card should appear. If it does not, click "Start," then "My Computer," then double-click on "Removable Disk." If your card reader supports multiple media types, it may install more than one listing titled as "Removable Disk." Try each one to see which contains the contents of your card. If it is the wrong listing, it will display an error message telling you to insert a disk into the drive
    • The pictures will now appear on the screen. You can view them by double-clicking on them, send them as email attachments, or copy and paste them to the hard drive. You can also delete any unwanted pictures. When you are finished, simply unplug the card reader and put the memory card back into the portable device

00:00:00 12-01-2010 Simply beats apple Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: If you need the camera connection kit for your iPad, this is what you should get. Apple makes the same but splits it into 2 items, this is better.

00:00:00 10-12-2010 As expected Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: Nice accessory. I puchased it and I expected it will work even with the newest firmware 4.2.1 and it worked efficiently.

The only bad thing in it is that it doesn't play all flash memories. Some of them works, and others not working.
I can send any file to the flash memory on the USB port, easily. (note you should jailbreak to have more reliability).

It worked nicely with my camera Canon 450D using the USB, I tried the SD card and it is workin great no problems at all. (note this doesn't need a jailbreak)

Finally, if you want to use Flash memories with it, then you have to jalbreak and use (iFile), otherwise, no need for jailbreak.

00:00:00 11-10-2010 Perfect USB SD Camera Connection Kit Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: This does just what you need it to do, and it does it well. A gizmo that allows me to almost instantly review my photos (jpeg and RAW!) and videos while in the field is just what the doctor ordered. The fact that I can then EMAIL them via the field (with 3G models) is miraculous! If I had to be picky, I might agree with reviews which are critical of the fact that you cannot enlarge and inspect the previews before deciding whether or not to import. But like I say, that is being pretty picky. The connection kit is killer.

00:00:00 01-04-2011 Must have Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: If you have an iPad, you need this. It doesn't just give you a way to get photos into your iPad. There are other, more cumbersome ways but if you don't do it that often then those ways are adequate. No, essentially this gives your iPad a USB port, something it can really use. If you get it, you'll wonder why it's not standard equipment.

  • Other Thoughts: Thanks dinodirect for this product. Apple should have bundled this product as part of the Ipad accesories. Anyway a good and cheaper substitute exist which works great. Thanks again.
