What is an USB Sound Card:
- Functionality - USB soundcards can have basic or advanced functions. Some USB cards are no bigger than a pen-drive, containing only simple microphone and headphone jacks; other soundcards feature miniature mixing boards, XLR ports, equalizers and 1/4-inch jacks for professional recording
- Uses - Typically, external soundcards are bought cheaply with basic features, allowing for a quick fix to a malfunctioning or poor quality onboard soundcard. Less frequently, expensive models are purchased for USB-based professional recording
- Compatibility - USB sound cards are usually compatible with almost any PC and, in many cases, even Macs. As a USB device, most external soundcards feature "plug-and-play" technology for convenient sharing among multiple computers

05-30-2011- Other Thoughts: I've tried several audio adapters of this style cheaper imitations and they do not compare to the sound quality of this devise. I was originally put off by the higher cost as compared to the lower quality devices that I had been using but it was worth the extra money

05-24-2011- Other Thoughts: I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to in this case. This sound card/adapter was so simple to install, and worked so well immediately, I had to write. Opened the package, put it in the USB slot, WinXP SP3 found it, installed the drivers, done! Plugged in my headphones, I had sound. Simple, quick, what more could you ask for

05-06-2011- Other Thoughts: I was honestly surprised by the quality of sound that came from this tiny sound card (crystal clear). This doesn't slow down my computer not one bit. In my opinion, this is a steal right there for the marked price! Go get it!!

05-01-2011- Other Thoughts: The sound on my PC stopped working. The sound card is built into the motherboard (Intel board DG-31PR with windows XP professional) so I had limited options for what I could do. This was an excellent fix to my problem. The sound quality is better than what I had before. The background hiss is completely gone from my speakers. Highly recommended

04-30-2011- Other Thoughts: This adapter works as advertised. I use it mainly to plug in my headset for chat. The audio comes in clear and I've been told that others can hear me clearly on the other end. Other reviews I have read are accurate. There are similar products that did not get good reviews regarding sound quality; this product performs without issues. I particularly like its small size. Someone complained about the LED light that remains on, I agree that it is a little annoying but I've grown to ignore it.

04-07-2011- Other Thoughts: This is an excellent little bit of equipment. I have it plugged into a powered USB hub, and when I dock my machine, I just plug in the hub and I get--printer, scanner, keyboard and mouse, and now, SOUND. Very cool. And the sound quality is quite good--more than good enough for listening to MP3s stored on my machine
