How to Fix a Leaky Faucet?
Step 1
- Turn off the water supply to the leaky faucet. Water shutoffs are often located under the sink but in older homes there may only be one main water shut off for the entire house, usually located where the water pipe enters (often facing the street)
Step 2

- Open the faucet and let any water in the pipes drain out
Step 3

- Put in the sink drain plug or put a towel in the sink bottom. Faucets have small screws and you don't want to lose one down the drain
Step 4

- Remove the faucet handle. Virtually all handles are attached with a screw often hidden under a decorative cap that can be pried off with a small screwdriver
Step 5
- Remove the workings of the faucet and determine what kind of repair is required (see Tips). Once you have identified what kind of faucet you have, see the related eHow for details on repairing your particular faucet
How to Keep Water Faucets From Freezing?
- Wrap insulating tape around any exposed pipes, especially those in cold areas like a basement
- Open kitchen and bathroom cabinets. This allows the warm air in the home to circulate around pipes
- Caulk any cracks or holes around exposed pipes. For example, caulk any cracks in the sink or bathtub, especially near the faucet and handles
- Allow faucets to trickle both hot and cold water. The continuous flow of water, even at a drip, prevents the pressure buildup that causes burst pipes

06-03-2011- Other Thoughts: got it for tenants' unit when I remodeled their kitchen. It looks quite reliable, and the pull out faucet is very smooth. wish they had it in a matte finish or satin nickle.

05-31-2011- Other Thoughts: Have owned this faucet for three months now and we love it! Replaced a 5 year old Price Pfister unit that broke within the first month becauae of cheap plastic push button construction. The push button (to select spray or single stream) is also plastic, but the performance is much more solid than the P - F; the unit stays clean, is easy to wipe up and provides good water flow. The hose fitting is plenty long enough and the unit installed easily. <br/>Kohler is the best and is worth every dime; especially in an essential area like the kitchen!

06-02-2011- Other Thoughts: I was initially turned off from buying this product because of the negative comments about retricted water flow. I sent a message to Kohler customer service telling them of this reported shortcoming and asked if a fix and ever been engineered to fix it. I got back a response that this faucet's flow rate is 2.2 gallons per minute (I forget at what PSI).
