How to Measure High Heel Shoes Height:
For many women, high heels are a wardrobe staple. They come in a variety of styles, types and heights. Stiletto, pump and kitten are all types of high-heeled shoes. Although many women own a variety of different heels, they do not always know the height of each heel. Luckily, it doesn't take much effort to measure the height of high-heeled shoes- Set the shoe on a flat, even surface
- Measure the back of the heel from the point where it connects to the shoe, called the seam, to the bottom of the heel resting on the flat surface
- Write this measurement down; this is the height of your high-heeled shoe
Maintain Shoes:
Dealing with Toxic Shoe Polish:- Wear gloves, when you use shoe polish as they contain toxics that can be absorbed through the skin or inhaled
- While polishing shoes never consume alcohol
- Shoe polish must be kept out of reach of children and pets
- Use it in a well-ventilated area
- Use the entire shoe polishes at one go and any residue should be discarded
- Discard rags or clothes that have come in contact with the polish
- The discarded shoe polish must be handled as a hazardous household substance
Alternatives to Shoe Polish:
- A shoe repair can clean and polish shoes for you
- Test this on a small spot on the shoe. Rub the leather shoes with the inside of a banana peel Use a soft cloth to buff and shine
- Take a small amount of olive oil or walnut oil and work it on the shoe. Polish with a soft cloth

Shoes Polish Knowledge:
- Liquid Polish - Dries quickly, not available in different colors, not long lasting
- Shoe Polish Paste - Long lasting but messy and slow to work with
- Shoe Polish Cream - Available in a variety of colors, great compromise
- Choose a small area of the shoe to test the color. Apply the polish and rub it into the shoe with a soft cloth and let it dry. Once dry, buff the shoes with a soft cloth or shine them with the specified brush
Protect Your Shoes?
- I suggest purchasing a waterproofing spray and applying it to your shoes IMMEDIATELY after you buy them. Yes, that means before you ever stick your feet inside of them. I know, I know. The sales people at Finish Line have tried to sell you this stuff before. But guess what? It actually works
- Water repellents work by essentially clogging the pores of materials that your shoes are made out of. Of course, when water can not find its way into the pores of your shoes, there is no way for the pores of your shoes to expand and contract. That means your new Sperry topsiders will be more resilient and will last far longer than they would having not been waterproofed

01-13-2010- Other Thoughts: I love these slouch boots. I got the one pair and they go with almost everything. I think they have the right amount of "slouchiness" and i find them very comfortable. the calves are a bit loose on me.
