How to Install LED Taillights:

Adding LED taillights is an excellent way to improve the appearance of a vehicle's exterior. In addition to providing a clean, custom look, LEDs tend to last much longer than a conventional tungsten filament light bulb. Swapping stock taillights for LED taillights is not difficult and can be done by anybody who has basic hand tools

• Remove factory taillight assembly. The taillights on most cars are bolted on from the inside of the trunk. Remove the trunk liner towards the rear of the vehicle and undo all necessary bolts and screws
• Remove the light bulbs from the factory taillight housing. This will allow you to disconnect the housings from the car. Remove light bulbs from the factory wire harness
• Connect the aftermarket LED taillights to the factory wire harness. Most LED taillights are vehicle specific, and are designed to plug directly into the existing wiring
• Test the new taillights for function. Have a friend press the brakes, turn on the parking lights, hit the turn signals, and place the car in reverse to be certain that all functions of the new lights are working properly
• Place the new taillights into the factory locations. Secure the new lights into place using the factory hardware that held the previously installed lights in place

How to Install LED Headlights:

Installing LED headlights on your vehicle will not only give you a sharper look, they will also illuminate much brighter than regular incandescent light bulbs. These headlights are more expensive, but they are more efficient and last longer. You can install just the light bulb into your regular headlight assembly or replace the whole assembly for a new look. Make sure you get the correct LED bulb or assembly for your particular car so it fits and works properly

LED Light Bulb Installation:

• Obtain your new LED light from an auto parts store. Use your car's make, model and year as a reference on which light to choose
• Pop the hood of your car and secure it open. Disconnect the battery of your car before you start this procedure. Pull the negative and positive battery cable off of the battery and gently set them to the side, making sure they don't touch any part of the car body
• Look at your specific car's service manual to get instructions on how to gain access to the headlight bulbs. You will most likely remove the headlight lens cover screws to pop the lens off or go behind the light assembly to turn and pull the bulb out from the back
• Remove the old incandescent bulb from the light assembly and put it to the side. Grab the new LED light bulb with a clean cloth or your sleeve and secure it into the light assembly. You don't want to touch the LED bulb with your fingers, as the oils will make it burn out faster
• Put the cover back on the headlight assembly or put the bulb back into the assembly from the back, whichever is applicable. Reconnect the battery cables, close the hood and test the lights

LED Headlight Assembly Installation:

• Follow steps 1 and 2 from above
• Look at your car's service manual to get instructions on how to release the headlight assembly. You will most likely remove the screws from around the assembly
• Disconnect the wire connectors from the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the assembly from the car and put it to the side
• Grab the new LED headlight assembly and connect the wires to the back of it. Position it into the headlight assembly area and secure it in place with screws. Make sure that it is secure so it will not flicker, move around or bounce as you drive
• Reconnect the battery cables, close the hood and test the lights
