How to Access Viewfinder?
A viewfinder is a device on a camera that allows you to look through a small window to see what the lens is seeing. With older cameras the viewfinder was indispensable, since without it photographers couldn't frame a picture properly. With the advent of digital cameras and LCD screens, many cameras no longer have viewfinders. However, higher-end digital cameras, like digital SLRs, usually have optical viewfinders that you can use to frame a picture with.
- Turn on your digital camera. Remove the lens cap from your camera.
- Turn off your camera's LCD screen. If the LCD screen is on, the viewfinder will not work in many cases.
- Look through the viewfinder on your camera. Adjust the shutter speed, focus and aperture. Take the picture.

05-06-2011- Other Thoughts: Obviously more professional and robust viewfinders are out there that run into the thousands. For the price, however, this is a pretty good one... so for the price, this is a very good director's viewfinder.

04-06-2011- Other Thoughts: If you know what it is like to burn daylight while you lug around a pro camera on a pro tripod, you'll want this viewfinder. Small, easy to use and the optics are crystal clear. You can scout settings and frame your shots quickly. Then move the gear and get your shot.

06-18-2011- Other Thoughts: I wrestled with getting this external viewfinder. The friend of mine who seduced me into getting an 1D4 had one. He loved it. I drooled over it. I put it on my wish list and no one bought it for me for Christmas, so I got it for myself.

04-22-2011- Other Thoughts: This little viewfinder is a great buy. It has all the settings you need for different types of formats. It is really small and fits in your pocket. It reminds me of looking through a viewfinder or a small DSLR viewfinder.
