How to Use Lens Hood in Studio:
- Remove the Canon lens hood from camera
- Attach the lens hood to camera. Lens hoods can be attached by screwing into, clipping onto, or fitting over the outside of the lens
- Check the shadow of the lens hood. It will appear as a "lens flare" If direct light is passing into the lens. Adjust the camera lens hood to block direct light by twisting it on the lens
- Check the position of the lights, subject & reflectors. A camera lens hood is better suitable for using in a studio situation in which the lights, reflectors, and subject are set up optimally; however, light can still directly enter the lens and cause flares. If no better orientation is for the studio lighting equipment or subject, a camera lens hood is the best choice to block excess and flaring light
Ways to Clean Mold on Camera Lens:

- Purchase a cleaning product, such as Clorox Germicidal Spray, 500 PSI Mask Scrub & Tilex Mildew Remover, any of which can be used to removes mold on glasses or lenses. Read the warning and notes of the product you choose
- Rub the lens cloth over the camera lens. Remove any grime or dirt, which will allow you to see the damage more clearly
- Dip lens cloth in warm water. And squeeze out any surplus of water. Be careful here, as extra water can seep into the camera
- Wipe the lens with the damp cloth. Pay attention to the mold section and any small creases around the camera lens, which will move any remaining dirt
- Pour or spray a drop of cleaner on the second lens cloth. And polish the camera lens thoroughly. Then cover every part of the mold pores including around any creases
- Wipe the moisture off by the third lens cloth. Towel it completely dry. And then store it in a dry and safe location

11-13-2010- Other Thoughts: I just recently got this lens hood and took it out to a park to try it out. I thought my EF 28-135 took good shots before... I was pleasantly surprised at the results of using this relatively cheap add-on. In a bright environment lens flare can be present in a subtle way, taking out some shadow depth and "bleaching" out a shot. This hood helps prevent that and really had an impact on my shots.

09-16-2010- Other Thoughts: This Canon Lens Hood offers several benefits to the photographer. Primarily the hood shades the lens from stray light that may result in an unwanted discoloration or hazing of the image, or the appearance of lens flare. Shading your lens helps improve contrast and image quality.

11-29-2010- Other Thoughts: I've had quite a few hoods, but this was my first "genuine" Canon Lens Hood (my previous lenses had been Sigma lenses).

01-04-2011- Other Thoughts: I couldn't give this product lower than 4 stars because it does exactly what it advertises it does, protects your lens and helps shield unwanted light. I also could not give it 5 stars since I don't know what kind of crack Canon smokes to charge their customers as much as they do for a ring of plastic? Not a good way to build brand loyalty.

10-18-2010- Other Thoughts: Hoods offer several benefits to the photographer. Primarily the hood shades the lens from stray light that may result in an unwanted discoloration or hazing of the image, or the appearance of lens flare. Shading your lens helps improve contrast and image quality. A hood is not required to eliminate these problems, as any item used to shade the lens will provide the same protection from stray light. The hood is convenient in that it is built to offer protection while ensuring that it will not inadvertently find its way into your image.
