How to detach & attach
How to Maintain a Car DVD Player:
- Start basic and simply make sure the device is plugged in properly to the power outlet. You want to check for shorts in the power supply cord as well by jiggling the cord around and seeing if the device turns on and off
- Check the connections the DVD player has to the television set to make sure it is hooked up properly and that all connections are still functioning. Sometimes connections can come a bit loose and this can cause you to have problems as well. Tighten up the connections and see if the player begins working correctly
- Unscrew the DVD player housing and remove it from the device. Lift the clamp so that the DVD player lens is exposed for you to clean
- Take your canned air and spray away any dust off of the lens and any other part of the inside of the DVD player to remove excessive dust and build up. If a build up of dust gets on the lens, it will be unable to read the DVD discs you insert into your DVD player. It is good to routinely give your DVD player a good cleaning even when working properly to avoid build up
- Replace the DVD player housing and secure it back in place using the screwdriver. Turn on your DVD player and test your repairs. If the DVD player is still not working correctly, you may want to remove the DVD and give it a good cleaning as well with your canned air and wiping it with a soft cloth

04-20-2011- Other Thoughts: We bought this for a train trip with our daughter, and we all managed to easily watch videos together while hearing the story over the rumble of the train. The picture quality is very good. We have not managed to test tethering the two screens together, because the product does not come equipped to do so except for using a car adapter. We have not yet attempted using in a vehicle.

05-30-2011- Other Thoughts: We bought this so that our little one could watch DVDs in the car and it works great. I was particularly interested in a DVD player that had its own speakers as I did not like the idea of my daughter starting to use earplugs at such an early age. The only critique I have is that it would be nice if there were a way to control the player other than having to reach back and press buttons. Sometimes, when a DVD loads, it will just sit on the main menu until you press play. If there were a way to do this remotely, it would be interesting (of course, though, probably just another remote that would get lost). Also, would like to see the manual suggest ways on how to secure the cables so that they don't hang all over the place.

04-24-2011- Other Thoughts: I bought this Philips dual screen portable DVD player on black Friday, it was a very good price. It worked perfectly the first time. However, later on, everytime, the second screen always requires multiple tries to get it work. I'm not sure how long the second screen will keep working. <br/> <br/>There're a few things that I'd like to see improvements: <br/> <br/>1. No battery. <br/>2. No remote control. <br/>3. Second screen can only be used on a car, not at home or hotel, because it doesn't have an adapter. <br/>4. Wires are messy, I'd think the wires connecting the two screens and the power wires can be combined. <br/> <br/>But overall, it's a good product (as long as the second screen keeps working).

05-12-2011- Other Thoughts: my daughter was finally settled in the car !!!!!! I`m not a mom that uses the tv as a babysitter she actually couldn`t tell you who dora is, but she hates the car and i hoped that purchasing this item would help and we just got back from our first trip that was calm and happy..... only tried it once but I`m loving it
