LED light bulbs burn for years, with estimated average life spans of 10,000 hours. The LED lights also use less electricity and often give more lumens of light output than other styles of bulbs. Car dome lights benefit from the LED bulbs. Installing LED bulbs for the auto's dome lights is a quick and easy process. Universal auto LED lights are available for almost every make and model. The process from switching over to the LED bulb is as simple as "plug-and-play"

• Purchase the properly sized LED universal dome lights from an auto-parts dealer. Provide them with the year, make and model of your auto
• Look at the done light in your car to see what connections keep the plastic bubble in place. If there are screws, use the proper style of screwdriver to remove the dome bubble. For safety's sake, open the hood of the car and disconnect the battery to prevent accidental shocks during the bulb change
• Pull out the old light bulb and push the new LED replacement bulb into the fixture. Place the dome back onto the housing and screw the attachments in place. Reconnect the car battery
• Turn the key to the neutral position or turn the auto on. Turn on the dome light switch or open the car door to test the lights. Turn the dial to make the light brighter or darker to your desired setting

How to Install LED Lights on a Car:

• LED lights are a popular aftermarket option for most vehicles as they are brighter-than-normal halogen bulbs and last a lot longer while using less power. The problem with installing LED lights on your vehicle is that you cannot simply swap out the bulbs. You actually need to replace the entire light assembly. The two most common lights that are converted to LED are the headlights and taillights. In order to do so, you must remove the old headlight/taillight assembly and install the new LED assemblies

Headlights:

• 1. Turn the vehicle's engine off and open the hood
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connection harness from the rear of the headlight assembly. Some vehicles require you to remove a rubber seal or cover to access the connector
• 3. Remove the fasteners securing the assembly to the engine compartment. Most vehicles have screws that can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver, but others have bolts that need to be removed with a socket wrench. Pull the assembly out of the engine compartment
• 4. Install the LED headlight assembly and reinstall the fasteners. Reattach the connector harness and the rubber seal/cover if necessary
• 5. Repeat with the other headlight assembly and close the hood
