How to Install an MP3 Player to a Car:
Though MP3 players are primarily designed to be used with a standard pair of headphones, you can also install one into your car stereo and listen to it over the speakers in your vehicle. How you will do this will depend on exactly what type of car you have. There are two distinct ways to install an MP3 player into a car: you can use what is called an FM transmitter or you can use a standard audio auxiliary cable.
- Instructions
- Connect your FM Transmitter to your MP3 player. Typically this involves plugging your FM Transmitter into the power adapter in your car for power, as well as into the headphone jack on your MP3 player. For iPod FM Transmitters, the unit gets plugged into the USB jack on the bottom of the iPod for power.
- Tune your FM transmitter to an FM radio station. Use the dials on the FM transmitter's face to do this. The station you are currently tuned to will be displayed on the FM transmitter's LED screen.
- Tune your car's FM radio to the same station of your FM transmitter.
- Select a song and play it using your MP3 player. The song will now be broadcast by the FM transmitter to the FM station, at which point it will then be received by your car's radio and played over its speakers.
- Audio Auxiliary Cable
- Connect an audio auxiliary cable to the headphone jack on your MP3 player.
- Connect the opposite end of the audio auxiliary cable to the audio input on the front of your car's stereo labeled "AUX."
- Press the "AUX" button on the face of your car's stereo.
- Select a song and play it using your MP3 player. The song will now travel from the MP3 player, through the cable to your car's stereo, then be played by your car's speakers.

05-14-2011- Other Thoughts: First, delivery was quick. Good seller. The device is simply excellent. I've had several of these things over the years and this one is the only one that does what it says it does, and does it well. The price was good and the small size handy. Glad I bought it! One minor complaint: the cable that comes with it is too short.

05-12-2011- Other Thoughts: This unit worked as promised. I found the use to be rather simple with a little trail and error. I have a vehicle with satellite radio only no regular FM radio. This took care of the issue. Who wants to pay for radio in this economy!!!

05-03-2011- Other Thoughts: I had previously ordered two of these as gifts and just ordered one for myself a few weeks ago. Since I have been driving a lot lately it has been a joy to have since I can use either an SD card or my MP3 player. Transmits well, very handy and easy to use. I will probably buy a few more as gifts! Very pleased with promptness and follow through.

04-27-2011- Other Thoughts: I had to replace my stock car stereo and decided upon looking at the choices to go with a unit that had the ability to play from an inserted usb stick. It allows for jumping from folder to folder and making seperate sound and level adjustments.

04-22-2011- Other Thoughts: I really like this device!!Other than that I really like this device:
1) The FM transmitter range seems good, certainly enough to use it with an adapter and a radio in my house.
2) Lots of different media options: SD card, usb, even has a 3.5mm jack that will connect to my wife's iRiver E10.
3) Delivery was quick.

04-06-2011- Other Thoughts: Fantastic product! Well worth the under $ price tag. This FM transmitter transmits a good quality signal from your portable device to your car's FM radio on any frequency. The transmitter produces a very strong signal, and transmits in stereo which my older transmitters either didn't do or didn't do all the time.

03-16-2011- Other Thoughts: Awesome the only thing thats bad is the small cord that they give you to connect to your mp3 or ipod. my car plug is really far down in my suv so i have to look down at my ipod when it would be better if the cord was longer so i can hold it to my face instead of taking my eyes off the road.
