How to Remove Emblems From Cars:
All cars come with emblems displaying the brand names. One of the first steps to customizing your car is to remove those pesky emblems. Some emblems are bolted on and you will need to have these shaved by a professional because some patchwork and painting is involved. However many emblems are actually just big stickers that can be removed fairly easily.
- Determine that your emblems are stickers not bolt on emblems by looking at the metal on the underside of your hood or trunk from the emblem. If you see bolts or nuts you are probably out of luck and will have to see a professional.
- Wash the area around the emblem well with warm soapy water; this will prevent scratches later on.
- Apply heat with a hair dryer until the emblem if fairly warm to the touch, this loosens up the glue.
- Spray a bug and tar remover liberally onto and around your emblem. Be sure to continue to keep it warm.
- Use a plastic spatula to slowly begin breaking loose the glue bonding your emblem to the car.
- Remove the emblem from the car entirely. Moving slow will usually help the glue pull away as well leaving less work later on.
- Remove any left over glue with a goo removal product and a little elbow grease.
Tips & Warnings:
- Perform this procedure in a garage and have a space heater keeping up the ambient temperature or in direct sunlight. The warmer the glue the easier it will be to remove the emblem.
- Some sprays may react explosively with heat do not use an aerosol spray is you are applying heat.
- Too much heat will damage your paint. You want warm not hot.
- Use constant steady pressure with the spatula, pushing too hard can damage the paint.
- Do not use a razor blade or any sort of metal scraper they will scratch your paint.
Tips:
- Carefully clean the desired location on your car
- Make a straight line on the car with masking tape or a wax pencil
- Line up the letters above with the spacing you prefer
- Take each letter one by one
- Carefully remove the backing and place the letters on the car
- Press the letters firmly into place

04-05-2011- Other Thoughts: I applied this to the back of my car very easily!!! I cleaned the area I was applying to with glass cleaner and just used a credit card to rub it on with pulled off the backing and viola!! beautiful! A day later went through the car wash and my decal was still there still very nice looking! I am VERY satisfied with this purchase!

03-23-2011- Other Thoughts: Overall this sticker is cute. Although, I did have to order it twice because my first sticker didn't stick to my window correctly. The letters kept peeling off with the sticker & eventually it stopped sticking. So I ordered it a second time & apparently they have two different stickers (different sticky backs, but same design) & that one worked perfectly. Take a chance & buy it, maybe I just got a sucky sticker lol:)
