Power Washing Techniques
- Using a power washer (also known as a pressure washer) is one of the best ways to have your car or truck looking like new again. A power washer can quickly and precisely remove all the salt and dirt that builds on the bottom of your truck. If you have never used a power washer before, don't worry. Learning some proper power washing techniques will help to get you started
Safety Precautions
- You will want to take some safety precautions when using a power washer. Wear safety glasses or goggles for eye protection. Remove all your jewelry to prevent injury to yourself and scratches to the car. Do not intentionally spray anyone with the trigger gun, or you might injure them. Do not stand on a ladder, step stool or anything else to power wash the higher areas of the car because the power washer can recoil and cause you to lose your balance. Do not use laundry detergent or dishwashing soap to wash the car because they will damage the paint
Practice
- If you have never used a power washer before, it may take one washing to get used to it. You might want to practice with the water turned off until you feel comfortable with the trigger gun and learn how to spray it correctly. It is best to always point the spray gun down while spraying unless you really need to spray it up to reach a tough spot. Use both hands on the spray gun, and you will have better control of it
Washing Techniques
- Connect the power washer to a regular hose hooked up to an outside faucet. Spray the entire car with water. Inject the car wash cleaning solution into the valve on the side of the wand the spray gun is attached to. Work on small areas of the car at a time, spraying the car from about 3 feet away. If you need more pressure, you can bring the sprayer closer to the car. Hold the spray gun at a 25 degree angle to the car to avoid damaging the paint by spraying straight on. Spray in an overlapping circular motion from the bottom of the car to the top. If you cannot get an area clean, use more cleaning solution. Don't forget to spray the bottom of the car
Rinsing Techniques
- When you rinse the car, begin at the top and work down until all the soap is off the car. Do not rinse the soap off of yourself with the power washer, or it will burn your skin off. Power wash the car again in a few weeks. The cold, rain and heat can ruin the car if you do not keep it clean throughout the changing seasons

Other Thoughts: I have never owned a pressure washer before but since I have a flagstone terrace that needs cleaning at least once a year I decided to try one. I saw this High Pressure Spray Gun highlighted on the website and decided to try it. Portable Car Washer was easy to understand the directions and, it certainly got the job done. It's a fine product. I recommended!

Other Thoughts: I replaced my Car Wash Gun with this and think this has more power yet is also very small and light. My only issue might be the hose connection, but I took the quick connect off of my old one. I spent about 8 hours cleaning my deck, concrete, BBQ and am happy.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this Washing Gun to clean both my travel trailer as well as my vehicles. Being a frequent traveler, I get a lot of heavy road dirt (dead bugs, bird droppings, etc.) on them. The brush attachment makes cleaning them a breeze! Not only is it useful in cleaning my trucks and camper, but I also use it to clean my drive way and garage floor with great results. I would recommend this Washing Gun to anyone interested in buying a reasonably-priced machine.
