How to Install Automobile Sun Shades
- Open the sun shade in the car. Do not open it outside the vehicle and then try to put it in the interior. Most sun shades are fastened with a small loop that goes around a hook or simply with a Velcro fastener
- Slide the bottom edge of the sun shade onto the lower edge of the dash where the windshield meets the dash. Ensure that the shade is as close to the windshield as possible and butted up against the base of the dash
- Press the upper edge of the sun shade against the upper edge of the windshield. The shade should have a small notch in the top of it that will allow the shade to fit around the rear view mirror and relatively flush against the windshield
- Pull the sun visors down and press them toward the windshield so that they hold the sun shade against the glass. Some sun shades have small suction cups. If the shade has these, press the suction cups firmly against the glass
- Remove the sun shade by putting the sun visors back in their up position. Pull the upper edge toward you and maneuver the shade around the rear view mirror. Hold the shade gently on either end and fold it together accordion style. Attach the fastener and tuck the shade away in the car where it won't get stepped on
How to Fold an Auto Sun Shade?
Part of maintaining your vehicle correctly is protecting the interior from extreme temperatures and the damage that UV rays can cause. An auto sun shade, which fits into the inside of the windshield and blocks the sun's rays, is a perfect solution. Unfortunately, the common pop-up and foldaway style can be confusing and many people grow frustrated, throwing the shades into their backseat floorboard and refusing to use them as they become warped from this improper care- Hold the shade lengthwise in both hands, near the rounded bottom corners
- Gently fold the two short sides of the shade together
- Hold the folded shade at the top and bottom. Carefully twist the bottom half away from you as you fold the top half toward you. The shade will pop into place due to the shape of the frame
- Use a rubber band or elastic band to keep your shade completely closed, if the shade does not come with attached elastic bands. Store the shade between uses in a safe place where it will not be warped or torn

04-01-2011- Other Thoughts: Works much better than roll down shades and cheaper. I am pleased with this purchase and so is my daughter who hates the sun in her eyes. Well worth the money. The old roll down shades are in the trash.

01-25-2011- Other Thoughts: I purchased this product to use in the 3rd row windows in our Odyssey. They are excellent! They fit perfectly and can be rolled up/down whenever needed. They stay in place without a problem. I had purchased shades for the same windows 2 times before and these are by far the best. I will definitely buy these again and have recommended them to friends.
