How to Clean Touchscreen Phones:



Touchscreen phones enable you to do everything through the screen instead of a keypad, giving you a pop-up keypad display to use when you need to dial a number, send a text message or browse the Internet. Since the only way to use your phone is to continuously touch the screen itself, it quickly becomes soiled with dust, fingerprints and body oils, leaving you in need of a cleaning routine for the phone

Instructions

• Turn off the touchscreen phone and detach any chargers or other plugged-in devices
• Wipe the entire phone down with a microfiber cloth. Wrap the phone in the cloth while wiping so your fingerprints do not rub off onto other areas of the phone while cleaning
• Rub the screen gently, paying special attention to this area as this is where the most residue accumulates. Rub over the screen with the microfiber cloth in small circular motions as you would to buff out any residue or fingerprints
• Place a screen protector, which can you can buy from any cell-phone provider, over the phone. These protectors stick on and are easily removed, but give you an added layer of protection which keeps the phone screen itself safe from buildup. Replace the screen protector as needed

How to Unlock an Android Phone:



Many Android users wish to unlock their phones in order to use them with local SIM cards while traveling, or on domestic carriers that don't offer an Android phone for sale. Fortunately, this is easily accomplished with an unlock code and a second SIM card. Be sure to do your research before attempting to unlock your phone, since unlocking can cause unintended consequences such as decreases in data speed

Instructions

• Obtain an unlock code. T-Mobile users can wait three months from the date their contract starts and then request a free unlock code from T-Mobile. If you're not a T-Mobile customer or wish to unlock your phone immediately, purchase an unlock code online. You'll need your IMEI number, which you can find by going to Settings > About Phone > Status.
• Turn off your Android phone and remove the back cover and battery. Look for the SIM card, and remove the one that's currently in your phone. Set it aside. Insert the new SIM card and replace the battery and back cover. Turn your phone back on
• When the phone boots up, it will display a screen asking for an unlock code for the new SIM. Enter the unlock code when prompted. Your phone is now unlocked

Tips & Warnings

• After you unlock the phone, you'll need to set the phone up to use your new carrier's data network
• Unlocking your phone may disable the phone from receiving 3G data, depending on your new carrier. Before you unlock your phone, research to make sure that your new carrier uses the same data band as your old carrier, or your phone may slow considerably
