How to Connect VGA to RCA Jacks:

• Turn on your computer with either the monitor attached via VGA (desktop) or nothing connected to the VGA output (laptop). Change your computer's display settings to 640 x 480
• Plug in the VGA-to-component video converter's power supply to any standard wall outlet
• Plug one end of the VGA cable to the output of your computer and the other end into the input of the VGA-to-component video converter
• Plug one end of your three-wire component video cable into the output of your VGA-to-component video converter and the other end into the component video input of your TV
• Turn on the TV and select the appropriate input signal to display. If there is no image from the computer, unplug the VGA cable from the converter and into a computer monitor, change the resolution, switch from the monitor back to the converter, and then check again. Continue to switch the screen resolution of your computer until an image is displayed on the screen

How to Connect a PC VGA Cable to an HDTV:



A VGA port is a common way to connect a video cable from a computer to an external monitor or other device for viewing PC content. The four-sided port contains 15 holes arranged in three rows that receive a VGA plug for data transmission. Connecting a VGA cable to a high-definition television (HDTV) requires a converter box that can process the analog VGA signal into a digital signal for viewing on the TV. Available from computer and electronics stores, the converter box is also equipped with a pair of stereo input jacks for connecting audio cables.

• Hook up the plug on one end of the VGA cable to the port on the converter box with the wider end of the plug turned upward. Twist the threaded knob on each side of the plug clockwise for a secure connection to the adapter
• Insert the white and red plugs on one end of the stereo cable into the left and right audio inputs on the converter box. Always connect the red audio plug to the right audio jack to avoid reversing the polarity of the signal
• Insert the plug on the HDMI cable into the six-sided HDMI port on the converter box. The wider end of the plug faces upward
• Connect the plug on the other end of the HDMI cable into any HDMI IN port on the back panel of the HDTV
• Connect the free end of the VGA cable to any VGA output port, such as on the back of a computer tower
• Connect the free ends of the stereo cables to the jacks on a Y-adapter. The mini-plug on the other end of the Y-adapter can be inserted into the Line OUT audio jack on a computer. Because the HDMI cable transmits video and audio to an HDTV, the converter box processes both the VGA signal and the stereo audio signal into a single output through the HDMI cable
