How to Connect an iPad to an External Hard Drive:

• Power on your HyperDrive by pressing the power button until the startup screen appears. Allow the startup sequence to run, and then press the power button again to shut the device down. Plug it into its AC adapter and allow it to charge overnight
• Power the drive on again when it is fully charged, and select "Format" from the main menu on the HyperDrive screen. Follow the onscreen prompts to format the hard drive, and then restart the device when the formatting finishes
• Plug the USB cable that came with your HyperDrive into the drive, and plug the other end into a USB port on your computer
• Press "USB" on the HyperDrive main menu. Drag and drop the files you want to store for your iPad into the HyperDrive's icon or window on your computer once your computer recognizes the drive. Wait for the files to transfer, and then disconnect the HyperDrive as you would any USB device
• Plug the iPad camera connection kit -- available from Apple -- into your iPad. Plug the HyperDrive cable into the connection kit port
• Select "iPad" on the HyperDrive main menu, and then choose the files you want to send to your iPad and click "OK." The drive will share the files with your iPad
