- Purchase a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration "all-hazards" weather radio as an additional or alternate method to obtain severe weather advisories, particularly during overnight periods
- Keep your wireless or cellular phone fully charged. Turn on your cell phone if you lose land-line telephone service
- Do not use your land-line or house phone during a thunderstorm or electrical storm

01-06-2012- Other Thoughts: The classic desk corded telephone brings back the idea that an everyday object can work well and also be pleasing to the eye, unlike many of today's styleless and charmless items. Simple to set up, simple to use, it works very well and sounds better to the person called than does a genuine antique telephone.

01-10-2012- Other Thoughts: I bought the antique telephone for my parents and I was worried that they would NOT like any new phone I would purchase as a replacement. Although this has push buttons, it is a nice, heavy phone and the transition went fairly well. Great phone, great price.
