How to Wear Bike Shorts:

Cyclists are known for wearing tight road bike clothes of Lycra or other form-fitting materials. Though they may look showy or silly, these clothes truly are perfectly designed for cycling long distances in many weather conditions. Beginners, though, may be mystified by how to wear bike shorts that contain padding and fit tightly. It's easy to make these shorts comfortable, though, whether you're riding 10 miles or 200, if you know a few keys to prevent common problems
- Remove your underwear. Yes, it may seem unusual, but going commando is definitely the way to go for all bike shorts. The padded "chamois" section that lines the crotch of bike shorts is designed to be worn against the skin. Adding more fabric to that area will result in bunching, chafing and a shorter ride than you had planned--guaranteed
- Apply the Body Glide or other anti-chafing product. Body Glide looks like a deodorant stick, but it is an unscented solid lubricant that feels dry and that will reduce the possibility of chafing from the movement of cycling and the rubbing of the shorts against delicate skin. Use plenty of Body Glide on your inner thighs, genital area and the area of your buttocks that will come into contact with your bike seat. You may be able to skip this step on shorter rides, but for long rides or especially sensitive skin, anti-chafing products are incredibly helpful
- Pull on the shorts. Be sure that the chamois of the shorts aligns with the areas you will want padded during the bike ride. Pull the stretchy fabric of the legs into the correct place on your legs; like pantyhose, the shorts don't always immediately move into the right position
- Apply sunscreen to your legs, particularly the gap between your knees and the cuff of the shorts. Be sure to add a little sunscreen below the cuffs and slightly above them, then move them back into position. The cuffs will inevitably move up as you ride, and you don't want a sunburned stripe where the sunscreen didn't protect you
- Adjust the placement of the chamois and the legs of the shorts once you sit on your bike seat to ride. As long as the pad is not bunched up under you and you align the pad with the seat, you should be able to ride many miles in comfort
How to Dress for Cold Weather when Cycling:

With the right gear, cold weather cycling can be just as enjoyable as warm weather cycling. Here's how to dress for maximum cold-weather cycling comfort
- Keep your upper body warm for the duration of your ride by wearing a long-sleeved cycling jersey or a short-sleeved jersey combined with a pair of arm warmers. Then, add a light-weight cycling jacket for more warmth and wind protection. The best cold-weather jackets have zippers that allow you to customize the amount of ventilation that you receive
- Warm legs are a must when you're riding in the cold. Ensure yours stay warm by wearing a pair of fleece-lined cycling tights, or turn your summer cycling shorts into cold-weather wear by adding a pair of leg warmers
- Minimize your heat loss by keeping your head covered at all times. A helmet cover will seal off your helmet vents to the cold winds, without sealing off vital ventilation. Other head gear to consider? A helmet liner, face mask or balaclava to further protect your head and face
- Hands. Without the right protection, your hands will be one of the first things to get miserably cold. Keep them covered with a pair of full-fingered cycling gloves
- To keep your feet warm, you first need to keep them dry. A pair of socks designed to wick away moisture will do the trick. If you're wearing cycle-specific shoes, also consider investing in a set of toe covers or shoe boots. These will keep cold winds from entering through the vents in your shoes
- The cold and winds can be especially irritating to eyes. Keeps yours protected by wearing a pair of sunglasses

12-07-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a great lightweight cycling suit. I love the jersey. Great product for the price I paid for it. The only thing you should know is that the small size is more like a Medium. The pants fit too.

11-29-2011- Other Thoughts: This road bike clothes is great. Sizing is appropriate for road bicyclists who want a contoured aerodynamic fit. The jacket has no insulation or lining, so it rolls up small enough to fit in your pocket if the rain stops or the day warms up.

09-28-2011- Other Thoughts: Fit well. I am a short person and most jerseys on my size are a bit long. This is the perfect length and feels very comfortable.
