  • The Flip Video camcorder is a popular easy to use digital video camera compatible with internet video sharing websites. It contains its own software installer to use on your computer, and video cables to connect to your television. The Flip camera is easily operated with one hand, and records video to a built-in memory card. The included software allows you to view all your recorded videos, transfer them to your computer's hard drive, and email them
  • Slide the small switch on the bottom of the camcorder to the unlock position labeled with an opened padlock icon. Press downward on the camera's front cover and the panel will slide off revealing the battery compartment. Install the included batteries according to the markings in the battery compartment
  • Replace the front cover and slide the switch on the bottom to the locked position. Locate the power button on the top of the camcorder and slide it away from its spring loaded position to power on the camcorder. The power switch will always return to its default position. The camcorder will beep as it powers on
  • Locate the "Start/Stop" button under the screen of the camcorder. Press the button once and use the screen to frame your subject while recording a few moments of video. Press the "+" and "-" buttons to zoom in and out while recording. Press the large red button again to stop recording
  • Press the "Play" button, labeled with a small triangle inside of a square, to review your recordings on the camera's screen. Use the left and right facing triangle buttons to navigate through each video if you have recorded more than one
  • Power off the camcorder by sliding the power switch. Slide the large switch on the side of the camera to deploy the USB connector. Plug this connector into any USB receptacle on your computer, and follow the onscreen instructions to install the Flip Video software. The software will guide you through installation, and the basic operations of saving, editing, and emailing your videos
  • Clear your Flip Video camera's memory by using the "Trash" button, which is labeled by a small garbage can icon. Pressing this button once will delete the current video. Pressing and holding the button will give you the option to delete all videos from the camera's memory. Press the "Trash" button again during the "Delete all?" prompt to erase all videos, or press the "Start/Stop" button to exit

I think people that rate the Digital Video Camera negatively need to realize its target audience. I mean, if you want lots of features and professional quality, you shouldn't even be looking at the Digital Video Camera. Then lug the thing around. But, if you want a simple to use, good quality camcorder, with very easy to use software, then buy this. I did, for my wife, and she loves it. Where as our nice Sony camcorder just sits in the closet, she will actually carry this Digital Video Camera around with her.

I love my camera. I was leery at first because it isn't a "name brand" but I couldn't beat the price for the mega pixels. Another added feature...which I believe the GREATEST....is that it comes with a pouch and charger. So no more buying camera cases! I just love it. The picture quality is great and the camcorder quality is good too. It also voice records too....I have used this feature many times. I have had my camera for quite some time and I just love it.

This is a great Digital Video Camera which is extremely easy to use. The software is also really easy to use but very limited in what you can do. The software only takes video clips and adds them together to make a movie. You can add photos and entire MP3's, but that is it. You cannot add any special effects or play with timing or volumes. I need to find a better software to edit and create my movies.
