Chiffon is a lightweight fabric that is sheer, made from cotton, silk or synthetic fibers. While most commonly used in evening wear and lingerie, chiffon scarves, blouses and other garments are also available. Chiffon can be difficult to clean and no one stain remover is suitable for all stains. Knowing some stain removal solutions for chiffon can help you keep your chiffon looking brand new
Instructions- Remove grease stains for chiffon with an absorbent powder. Sprinkle cornstarch, flour or talc powder on the grease stain. Brush away the powder. Reapply and brush away the powder until all the grease has been absorbed
- Dip a white cloth in vinegar. Dab stains on chiffon with the vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit on the stain. When the vinegar dries, rinse with laundry detergent and water
- Lighten ink and dye stains with a mixture of 1 1/2 cups warm water and 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide. Dab the mixture on with a sponge and rinse it away by dabbing it up with a clean, moist sponge
- Mix 1/4 cup borax and 1/4 cup water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and allow it to dry. Brush away as much of the dried borax as possible. Rinse the stain clean with warm water
