Facts About Screws:
- Screws are tools that are used in many building projects. If you are planning a project that requires screws, it's a good idea to become familiar with screws and their purpose.
- Features
- A screw is a simple tool that consists of a metal head and shaft. The shaft has an inclined plane that spirals around it either counterclockwise or clockwise. This inclined plane is called the thread of the screw.
- Function
- Screws are most commonly used to fasten one object to another. Different screws do different jobs. A jackscrew can lift heavy objects. A good example is the jack that is used to lift a car to fix a flat tire. A vice is another type of screw.
- Sizing
- Screws come in different sizes that are indicated by a number on the box. Screws do not change in length as the sizing number goes up. As the number increases, screws become wider and thicker.
- Driver
- The driver of the screw refers to the type of indentation at the head of the screw. The two most common types of drivers are the flathead and the crosshead. The flathead consists of a straight indentation, while the crosshead has a cross-shaped indentation.
- Pitch
- The pitch of a screw refers to the degree of the thread, or inclined plane. The pitch of a screw is determined by a number, just like the size.

01-09-2012- Pros: Quite well made. Good value product and very good for the price. Does the job it is made for. This quite versatile as it has a extended thread I use it to connect either a camera or flash unit to a fig rig. It does this job just fine.
- Cons: Plastic top is a bit cheap. But for the price it is fine.
- Other Thoughts: None!

12-22-2010- Other Thoughts: This Bracket Screws is the only stand/umbrella holder I could find that will screw into the bottom of the Sony flash units. The Sony flash shoe won't fit into the normal shoe base so this is your best choice. The unit is smaller than you'd think, but solid and well made. The bolts and threaded female receivers are all metal, not plastic, so I think it will hold up well.

11-09-2010- Other Thoughts: These are fantastic for traveling photographers who prefer the lightweight speedlights as opposed to heavier monolights, etc. I use this Tripod Screw to fix my camera wherever you need them.
