    Which battery to choose?
    Posted: 03/17/2010 12:17 EST
    Hello,
I am looking for a battery that I could use to power a 12V/0.5A access point.
It is an ordinary access point that is normally powered by an adapter, but I need to make it mobile. My idea is to use a battery pack that would power it for at least 4-5hrs, ideally 8hrs, but with a weight of max 300g (0.7 pounds).
Someone also told me, that it is not possible to connect the battery directly to the access point, because the battery would damage. I don´t understand batteries very much so I´m asking for help if there is some way how I can power the access point using some light-weight battery (LiPol/Li-ion???).

I found for example these products, but I am not sure if they can be used for my purpose or which one would be suitable:

I advise you choose the first one. http://www.dinodirect.com/12V-5V-4800mA-Capacity-USB-Lithium-Battery-for-Security-CCTV-Camera-ST-1248U/AFFID-51.html?cur=GBP But I am not very sure whether it's completely suitable. Just a suggestion.

You do not describe clearly your needs. You have listed the products, appear to be with the charger battery, battery charging access mouth is very important, buy the wrong product, you can not normally charge, why not paste a picture up, let us take a look at Your charger photo?
