Basic Storage: Tool Shed and Tool Box
- Your basic tool storage options are a tool shed or part of your garage and a tool box or chest. The type of storage you should use depends on what tools you are storing. If all you have is a screwdriver set, a hammer and a some ratchets, a tool shed is unnecessary.
- Use a tool shed to store large tools, such as power tools and carpentry tools. Inside the shed, you might want to save a little space for a tool box or two. In the tool box, you can store all of your commonly used tools, such as screwdrivers, hammers, levels and tape measures. If you use a shed, organize your large tools so they are easy to find. Keep yard tools, such as rakes, shovels and lawnmowers, in the same area. Power tools such as saws and sanders should be kept together. Store the tool box in an area that can be easily accessed (so if you have a small project, you can simply grab the tool box and go).

How to Use Tool Boxes Inside Your HomeTool boxes are usually found in peoples garages or sheds, but they are very useful for more than just tools. Read on to discover some new uses for tool boxes
- Select a tool box that appeals to you. Tool boxes, or tool chests, come in a variety of colors, from wooden tool boxes, to metal ones. They come in stainless steel, red, black and cobalt blue. There may be other colors out there, but these I have seen
- A large chest tool box is very handy in the kitchen. If you're a sucker for kitchen gadgets, a tool box makes great storage for them and they can be organized easily in the shallow drawers. No more digging for what you need
- A tool box is a handy addition to the craft room as well. Sort your brushes and lay them out flat in one part, paints could go in another part. Lay your embroider threads out
- In a little boys room, a tool box would look really good, especially if he is decorating in a car theme. He could use if for sorting toys, if he sorts that is. If not he can cram it full of his treasures
Tips & Warnings- Some of the tool box chests have bars on each side of them. You could put hooks on them to hang pots and pans off of, or drape towels over them
- The stainless steel tool chests would go nice in a kitchen with stainless appliances
- Don't forget the wooden tool boxes. They make some that are really attractive if you aren't into the metal look

06-02-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a good tackle box for the price. It has a lot of storage areas for all my stuff and I have a lot of stuff. Lures, terminal tackle, extra line, leaders, pliers. And i still have one tray that is empty!! Very happy with this purchase.
