How to Replace a SIM Card Holder:

The SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module) in your cellular or smartphone is a small, plastic chip that stores various pieces of data, including your billing information. On many smartphones the SIM card is inserted in a slot in the side of the phone, but in many cell phones it is located under a small latch in the battery compartment. This makes for easy access to your SIM card, but the latch can become damaged or break. If this has happened to you, you'll be pleased to know you can replace the latch yourself

• Turn off your phone and turn it over. Then press down on the battery latch on the top of your phone and slide the battery cover off the phone. If your particular model doesn't have a battery latch over the cover, then simply press down on the battery cover and slide it off the unit
• Use your fingers to lift your phone's battery out of its compartment and reveal the SIM card lying in its small tray, underneath a plastic holder. Remove the SIM card
• Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove any screws at the end of the damaged holder and then remove the holder from the phone
• Replace with the new holder (available from your particular phone's retailer or online) and replace any screws. Then replace the SIM card, battery compartment cover and you're done
