  How to Install a DVD Player in an Auto
  
  Digital Video Disc (DVD) players are typically installed in the dashboard using a vehicle-specific kit. The DVD players are designed to work with a 12-volt Direct Current (DC) Negative Ground electrical system. In the unlikely event your car isn't wired like this, you can purchase an inverter to convert the electrical supply. Installation is very similar to a CD player and you can use an existing CD player's hardware to attach the DVD player to the firewall.
  - Verify you have the appropriate space for installation and what the maximum angle is for the unit to be installed. Use the DVD player installation guide for the required tolerances
  - Slide the mounting bolt over the rubber cushion and screw the bolt into the mounting bolt hole in the middle of the back of the DVD player
  - Remove the car's negative battery terminal and perform the required electrical connections. Connect the black lead from the DVD player to the car's chassis. That's the ground. Connect the yellow constant 12-volt lead from the DVD player to a live terminal in the fuse block connecting to the car battery. Bypass the ignition switch. Connect the red lead to an accessory terminal in the fuse block
  - Connect any accessories like power antenna, subwoofers and external video displays. Connect the speakers. Connect the parking brake lead. Reattach the negative battery terminal and test the DVD player's operation
  - Clip the trim plate onto the sleeve and slide the main unit into the sleeve with the attached handles. Clip the control panel onto the main unit. Bend the tabs to hold the sleeve in place
  - Attach the entire assemblage onto the existing perforated stay at the back of the slot in the dash with the mounting bolt and a washer. Ensure the stay is firmly secured to the firewall by tightening the existing screw

  - The unit includes an evaluation version GPS software package. You should download/purchase an updated software package from your home country that best covers your region of the world.
  Special GPS Note: This model is compatible with most brands of GPS software, such as TomTom, iGO, Route66 etc. - however hardware specific software such as Garmin may not run on this unit.
