How to Recharge Mobile Batteries:

MOMO Spare Emergency Charger for iPod iPhone 4 3G

Mobile phones have taken over the world, to the point where land lines are going the way of the dodo. However, the one significant drawback to this technology is the need to plug in after a few hours of talk time to recharge the batteries, and then the eventual replacement of the batteries. You have to keep your battery fresh in order to keep the conversation going

    • One option is to plug your mobile phone into the "home" charger that came with it. This charger should be plugged into a power outlet first, then the other end will plug into a specific port on the phone, usually the side or the bottom. Keep it plugged in until the phone informs you that it is fully charged; there is generally an icon somewhere on the main screen which will show you a full battery when it is
    • A second option is to plug your phone into a car charger if you're in your car. Insert the charger into your car's 12 volt outlet. The 12 volt outlet is commonly known as the cigarette lighter outlet, or a port that looks just like it: large, round and fairly deep. It can generally be found somewhere on your front console, usually around the radio. The car charger then generally plugs into the same port on your phone as the home charger. Leave it plugged in until fully charged
    • Finally, you may plug your phone into an emergency charger. These chargers will allow you to charge your phone off of standard batteries, generally AA, if you're away from your regular chargers. These can generally be purchased at any electronic store, and you may replace the batteries as often as necessary
    • Replace your phone's battery if the time it takes to charge it exceeds the time you get to talk. Return to where you purchased your phone, and show your phone to a representative in order to ensure you are purchasing the right battery, as only one specific type of battery will work for any given phone. Simply remove the battery cover of your phone (usually on the back) pull out the old battery and insert the new one. Let the new battery charge overnight before use to break it in properly

How to Charge an iPhone 3G:

    iPod Charger

    • Having an iPhone 3G is an exciting prospect, and you may be excited to play with it as soon as you bring it home from the store. However, instead of playing with your iPhone, it is best to charge it fully first. Charging your iPhone is a very easy process, and once your iPhone is fully charged, you'll be able to enjoy its many features
    • Find the sync cable that was bundled with your iPhone. This cable is a long white cable with a USB side and a long, skinny data side
    • Plug the data side of the cord into the bottom of your iPhone, with the little rectangle picture facing the same way as the face of the iPhone
    • Connect the USB end of the cord to a power source. This power source can be either a USB port on your computer, or a USB wall adapter plugged into a standard outlet
    • Wait for the phone to charge. Once the phone is connected, a battery icon will appear and it will display the percentage of charge that the phone has. Once the iPhone has reached 100% charge, unplug it

00:00:00 11-15-2010 Works, but not very efficient, and also it smells!, Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: Pros: Cheap, provides consistent voltage, good current, and easy to use.
Cons: Cover very difficult to get off, Switch can easily be turned on while in pockets, device does not handle high currents very well (creates noxious, burning plastic smell in charging currents >500mA), conversion is 5V is inefficient (loses much of the energy to heat).
Other thoughts: The USB port is shorted so that some devices (e.g. mobile phones) charges more quickly using higher currents than ordinary chargers. When the device is switched on, it provides a constant 4.98V on the USB port, even when the batteries themselves approach 1.0V. While the device is off, the voltage will slowly go down from 4.98V to the voltage of the installed batteries (possibly due to capacitance?).
Overall, this is a good device for its price. However, I would not really use it as your ordinary backup charger because it has a serious design flaw. Depending on what you are planning to charge using this device, it might work for you. Overall, good for emergencies, although not very efficient at all (gives out heat and burning plastic smell)... If you don't mind those, then this is a good deal. :)b

00:00:00 12-27-2010 Great little charger - Great deal! Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: I have never before reviewed a product, but this iPhone Charger MUST be commented on!
I purchased this little charger to charge my iPhone while camping. I could not find any other reasonably priced products that would accomplish the task so figured I had little to lose if it did not work...
The ipod emergency charger works well. I recommend bringing lots of AA batteries if you will be gone for a while since it goes through the batteries after about two full charges, but it is compact and even has a pen light we used in the tent!
For the price, this is probably the greatest charger you can buy.

00:00:00 08-25-2010 Excellent Charger Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: I don't review often, but I felt compelled to write a review for this Emergency Ipod Charger because there weren't many and because this is an excellent device at a great deal. I bought this with the intention of using rechargeable AA batteries to recharge my iPod Touch 3G when away from other power sources. It works great for this.
After a little bit of testing, I found that this will consistently charge my iPod Touch from completely drained to 100% in about 3 hours from 2 fully charged AA rechargeable batteries. One full charge completely drains the AA batteries. It will get to 80% in about 1.5 hours. (I tested Energizer, Everlast, and Eneloop rechargeable batteries with this, and all produced about the same results). Interestingly, I also tested Rayovac AA alkaline batteries, which only produced a 45% charge before they were completely drained.
Overall, it works very well for what I bought it for, and at a very reasonable price for something like this.

  • Pros: Миниатюрная зарядка, легкая, простая в использовании, дополнительно есть фонарик, практически не заменимая в дороге или походе.
  • Cons: фонарик одно название, светит неважно.
  • Other Thoughts: Всегда находится у меня в кармане, незаменим в дороге, походе, лесу.

00:00:00 09-18-2011 Worth the price Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: For the money I paid for this Cell Phone Accessories, it's worth it. It does the job, but the LED light couldn't light up anything, and the light indicating the device is charging hardly ever works. But I guess that's why it's an EMERGENCY charger, huh?
