How to Complete 3D Jigsaw Puzzles

To complete 3D jigsaw puzzles, your experience as a puzzle builder must be at a fairly high level. While a standard table puzzle may take you 5 to 15 minutes to complete, a 3D puzzle may require weeks. Improve your skill level gradually, then work your way slowly into the world of 3D puzzle building. Since a 3D puzzle has three dimensions, you'll have to get used to looking at a graspable object as a puzzleSelect a Puzzle Kit
- Choose from objects of art, including famous Greek and Roman statues that come to life as 3D jigsaw puzzles
- Pique your architectural interest with a 3D puzzle of the Empire State building, the Bank of China or even Dracula's Castle. Buildings make ideal 3D puzzles
- Demonstrate your love of cars by beginning your 3D-puzzle-building career with a classic Chevrolet Camaro. Other cars are available to fill out your stable
Create a Space
- Define an area in your home to spend some quality time with your 3D jigsaw puzzle. Numerous hours will be required for the more complex models
- Choose a hard, flat surface as your 3D-puzzle-building base of operations. An old, unused table or even a card table will suffice
- Make sure your chosen table or flat space will provide enough room for you to complete your puzzle. You should also have ample space to lay out the loose pieces as you go
- Complete your 3D puzzle on a counter top if your house is filled with young children. This will be safer in the sense that your puzzle will not be disturbed if someone bumps into it
- Avoid working on a carpeted surface
Complete Your 3D Jigsaw Puzzle
- Allow for many hours of assembly. While some of the easier kits can be assembled in a short amount of time, the more complex ones will take days or even weeks
- Complete your 3D puzzle with glue if you can't foresee putting it together again and would like to create a sculptural object that you can use as a decoration
- Refer to all available instructions and diagrams as frequently as possible. Multiple angles of approach are always necessary when building 3D puzzles, as they are with real buildings
Types of Gundams

Mobile Suit Gundam first aired in Japan on April 7, 1979. Thirty years later, the Gundam franchise is worth the equivalent of $550 million. It has had more than half-dozen spinoffs in addition to numerous sequels of the original Gundam series. Each has a unique plotlines based upon variations of the symbolic robot namesake of the series: the Gundam
Original Series and its Sequels
The original Gundam universe is set during a war between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon. The Federation rules the world. The Principality of Zeon is a group of space colonies that seek independence from the Federation and the establishment of a nation that they believe to be the next step in human evolution.
The Gundam used during this war, better known as the RX-78, is the secret weapon of the Federation developed in response to the Zeons' robot weapons known as mobile suits. The RX-78 stands 18 meters tall with a 9-meter tall titanium shield. It has two Vulcan cannons mounted on its head and several weapons, most notably a rifle and sword, powered by what are called "Minovsky Particles."
Numerous sequels in this universe occur during and after the Federation's war against the Zeon, with the newer Gundam models retaining a similar base design with slight chassis changes and new weapons such as atomic bazookas and detachable independent lasers operated through psychic powers.
G Gundam
The first Gundam series not to use the original universe was G Gundam in 1994. This series took a radically different plot line, putting the Gundam robots as the tools of martial artists representing different countries in a tournament to rule the world.
Gundam Wing
A year after G Gundam concluded, the franchise rebooted again with Gundam Wing. Here, the Gundams are a set of five robots developed and operated by rebels seeking freedom for the Earth's orbiting space colonies. Compared to the original series' Gundams, the Gundams in this series are generally depicted to be much more powerful, although they share a similar facial appearance, even after their upgrades in the movie sequel.
Gundam X and Turn A Gundam
During the latter half of the 1990s, the Gundam franchise introduced two more universes: Gundam X and Turn A Gundam. Both take place in a post-apocalyptic world after a war similar to the one portrayed in the original series. These Gundams bear a resemblance to those in Gundam Wing, with the Turn A Gundam portraying the Gundam's usual forehead "V" underneath its chin.
Gundam Series After 2000
The 2000s saw three new universes introduced to the Gundam franchise: Super Deformed Gundam, Gundam 00 and Gundam SEED. Gundam 00 and Gundam SEED take elements of earlier series in a new light, with 00 copying the role of the Gundams as a force against an oppressive status quo as portrayed in Gundam Wing. The original series' eugenic overtones are echoed in Gundam SEED. However, the Super Deformed Gundam series takes a significant shift as a parody, portraying the Gundams as autonomously functioning robots that are the size of children.Tips & Warnings

- Some 3D puzzles can be quite expensive. Make sure you purchase a kit within your price range, especially if this is your first 3D puzzle

11-10-2011- Other Thoughts: Looking at this model, you're either thinking 1. its awesome but so expensive, or 2. its ugly and expensive. If you have opinion #1, read my review to determine whether the investment is worth it.

I paid quite a bit for this kit (to support my local shop) so this is a great deal . I recently got back into model building and was really excited to build this kit.

11-10-2011- Other Thoughts: This gundam is very portable, and being a perfect grade is very detailed and fun to build. The fingers are individually jointed and painting is not required. Requires about a week to build, but if you want to paint it and detail it, it might take over a month. Not for beginners.
