How to Make a Fish Light Attractor:
Fish are attracted to lights--particularly green lights. If you are not sure where the fish are in the body of water you are fishing or you want to encourage less active fish to move, submerge a green light underwater. Smaller fish will be attracted to the light, and, in turn, the larger fish will follow. Enhance your fishing experience with a fish light attractor that you can make yourself with a few simple itemsInstructions:
- Replace the clear bulb inside a small LED flashlight with a green bulb. Cover the flashlight lens with green plastic film. Secure the film with a rubber band
- Place small stones into the bottom of a clear, waterproof plastic container with handle. Lay the flashlight inside the waterproof container. Close securely
- Tie a loop with fishing line onto the handle of the container. Tie enough fishing line to the loop to allow the container to be lowered to the desired depth
- Test the fish light attractor by lowering it in water. The container should be heavy enough to sink quickly. The light should be green enough for your purposes. If necessary, add more small stones and place additional green plastic film over the lens cover
How to Construct a Night Fishing Light:

- Add 1 inch of gravel into the bottom of the container around the flashlight. Fill the container with expansion foam. Lay one end of the fishing line into the container. Screw the lid onto the container
- Tie the free end of the fishing line onto a cleat on the boat or dock. Gently set the night fishing light into the water. Go fishing
- Remove the container from the water. Open the lid of the container. Pull out the foam. Lift the flashlight free and turn it off. Store the flashlight and fishing line inside of the container until your next trip
