How to Install LED Headlights:
Installing LED headlights on your vehicle will not only give you a sharper look, they will also illuminate much brighter than regular incandescent light bulbs. These headlights are more expensive, but they are more efficient and last longer. You can install just the light bulb into your regular headlight assembly or replace the whole assembly for a new look. Make sure you get the correct LED bulb or assembly for your particular car so it fits and works properly
LED Light Bulb Installation- Obtain your new LED light from an auto parts store. Use your car's make, model and year as a reference on which light to choose
- Pop the hood of your car and secure it open. Disconnect the battery of your car before you start this procedure. Pull the negative and positive battery cable off of the battery and gently set them to the side, making sure they don't touch any part of the car body
- Look at your specific car's service manual to get instructions on how to gain access to the headlight bulbs. You will most likely remove the headlight lens cover screws to pop the lens off or go behind the light assembly to turn and pull the bulb out from the back
- Remove the old incandescent bulb from the light assembly and put it to the side. Grab the new LED light bulb with a clean cloth or your sleeve and secure it into the light assembly. You don't want to touch the LED bulb with your fingers, as the oils will make it burn out faster
- Put the cover back on the headlight assembly or put the bulb back into the assembly from the back, whichever is applicable. Reconnect the battery cables, close the hood and test the lights
LED Headlight Assembly Installation
- Follow steps 1 and 2 from above
- Look at your car's service manual to get instructions on how to release the headlight assembly. You will most likely remove the screws from around the assembly
- Disconnect the wire connectors from the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the assembly from the car and put it to the side
- Grab the new LED headlight assembly and connect the wires to the back of it. Position it into the headlight assembly area and secure it in place with screws. Make sure that it is secure so it will not flicker, move around or bounce as you drive
- Reconnect the battery cables, close the hood and test the lights
How to Replace a Headlight Switch:
If your low beams won't activate, or your lights just won't come on at all, it's likely time to replace your car headlight switch. This is a common problem on cars of all makes and models, and the repair can be done in your garage rather than handing over the money to a mechanic
Instructions
- Disconnect the negative cable from your battery and wait 5 to 10 minutes to allow the capacitors for the airbags to discharge
- Remove any screws around the switch, or pry the retaining ring that holds the switch in place away from the dash
- Slide the switch out of the dash carefully, and remove the wire plugs. Attach a spring clamp onto the plugs to keep them from falling into the dash where they are difficult to fish back out
- Pull the light switch into the on position, press the headlight case button and remove the switch. Using a screwdriver helps if your case has more than one release button. You may have to remove a nut at the bottom of the switch shaft to remove the decorative bezel
- Insert the new car headlight switch into the housing and replace the bezel and shaft nut if necessary
- Attach the wire plugs, taking care not to bend any contacts. Slide the housing and switch back into the dash without binding the connecting wires
- Put back any trim and mounting screws before reconnecting the negative battery wire. Test the switch and the low and high beams

- Cons: I did not like the color of light. should be cheaper.
- Other Thoughts: I had to change the LED to get a different color. I use it and when riding a bicycle, and tourism, and fishing. Never let down.

03-08-2012- Other Thoughts: These are perfect for a wedding. The strings are long and the lights are a brilliant white. I was pleasantly surprised to find various lighting options included with the string. Once plugged in you can press a button which switches the lights between a gentle sparkle, fading on and off, a strobe-light effect, and the default all on. I think the strobe-light effect will be a lot of fun when the dancing gets started!
